av gas

Yes and it works well. Pretty much been beat to death on here. Around 70% will tell you of their good experiences with it and the other 30% will tell you it's crap, not designed to be run in engines that run as high rpm's as sleds.

yup they sure have. Lots of people. So what are you wondering? What motor do you have? Whats your compression? Running higher octane fuel wont do a bit of good unless your running a high compression motor. basically All the higher octane fuel does is prevent detonation. So if you dont need to run it dont waste your money.

800 polaris VES slp pipe, vf3 reeds, slp airbox. ive heard the old AV fuel was crappy but i guess the new stuff is alot better and is fine in regular motors.

With your set-up you have little to gain by running it. Most run it instead of race gas on modded (ported, turboed, big bore) engines.

No need for more than 91oct in your setup, running more than necessary will actually lose a little power.

I have a 2004 RMK....I have twin pipes and it is ported. I run AV gas.

There are tons of regulations on av gas, it is probably has the most consistent fuel (quality wise) you will find.

not crappy as in quality, but crappy as in burn quality in a engine that varies alot in rpm.

i know too high of octane can actually make less power by lessening the volatilaty of the the burn in the cylnder thus making less power. i was just wondering if people used it. thanks guys

sorry to sound stupid here, but what is av gas, and how is it different from race gas?

Most everyone with mod sleds here in Alaska runs avgas. Myself included. We can get avgas for slightly more than pump gas. Shipping race gas to Alaska makes it EXTREMELY expensive. We have no issues running avgas. I have 2 800 ves in the family and a 700ves. All 3 running twin pipes and one is ported. All ridden 0-6000'. No fuel issues with the avgas.

usually in the mtns i run a 70/30 mix of premium and av gas. main reason for running av gas is cause i ride with turbo sleds so all the jerry cans in the trailer got av gas. it smells good :D. i fail to see why its not recommened to run av gas in turbo sleds. correct me if i'm but i beleive that some turbo companies recommend u don;t run it. buddies turbo rx1 has been runnin av gas and pushin big hp since 04. not one problem motor wise
