Just wondering if anyone out there has done one of these? I have a 2003 suzuki eiger 400 and just can not afford a new one so I was thinking of putting a big bore kit in it but is it worth it. And what else have people done to thier quads, like exhaust work, air filters, jetting maybe even clutch work?
Thanks:D

Four Stroke Tech (Micky Dunlap) lists a 581cc for the AC 400....which I think is the same motor....better call before you get too far ahead. I've played with jet kits and pipes on small ATV's over the years and never really noticed much for gains...just more noise. There's always good gains with clutch work though.....

Has no one tweaked their quads?

Sorry my other neighbor is a Gearhead Doctor & into the BB Honda 250R's, Has 3 with the latest being a 330 powervalve kit. Says he can buy them cheap & they flat out rip on the dunes when compaired to the new iron like his DS650 on spray.

The little air cooled/oil cooled engines just aren't the best thing to mod out. Cheaper to buy a bigger quad really. Get a clutch kit and appropriate new tires for your type of riding and run 'er.

Thanks Daveb, That is what I was wanting to hear anyways. Might just have to talk my g/f into letting me get a newer one:D

All the goodies / big bore, cam, exhaust, clutching will gain you th epower alright. You will have a hefty chunk of change invested. I do quite a bit of engine work to quads and warn my customers first off that the money spent will be a good down-payment on a newer/bigger quad.
