Attaching shotgun to sled

WTF? Why would you strap a shotgun to your sled? Just carry a 9mm or 45 in your backpack if you're that worried.

I use to strap a SG to the tunnel on my old sled but just wasn't feeling safe when out deep in the backcountry...no I have a handle bar mounted M4 just in case ;)

Welcome to Montana

I take it you are chasing coyotes...On the gun, Shorter is better, if you can get a leather scabbard you would carry on a saddle and rivet it to the tunnel angled down towards your right foot rest that way you can reach down behind your leg and grab it when you need it. Get a cheap left hand throttle, like a bike brake lever. Talk about fun chit...:D

I just used to let the shooter on back hold the shotgun around my waist...was a little dangerous bringing gun up to shoot but we still......"gotter done"

Jeeeze just because a guy highmarks you doesnt mean u have to blow his brains out;)

on the older edge chassis's we used to cut a slot in the tank surround and install a plastic gun boot right over the clutch guard..if you trimmed the case good you could install it all the way up to the nose of the sled allowing me to carry my remington model 700 in 300 rem ultra mag with 28 in barrel without it interfering with riding(stock stuck out of cowling under handlebars...never had a problem with 6 sleds with the gun falling out or getting hurt while riding..on my dragon I have a heavy canvas cased gun carrier that bolts to my tunnel and keeps the rifle right up tight to the tunnel to protect it....dont have any pics right now but will this spring when I reinstall it for spring bear hunting...
this is a pic of my buddies rev with a plastic boot mounted to the tunnel..will give you some ideas....

Running coyotes, plan on winning a competition. Relax yourself!!!

When I worked at a JD dealership (just a kid then) some of the guys with brand new sleds (liquifier 440) would come in with 1/4" round rod welded over front bumper and windshield. This was there so when chasing coyotes they could just duck down under those rods when hitting a barbed wire fence. Fence would drop down right behind them and tear the heck outta the rear of sled. Keep in mind these were brand new sleds back then and I couldnt afford one so would just drewl over them and these guys would just trash them. But coyotes were bringing i think around 50-60 bux back then??

back in the day we mounted the plastic cases to the metal strip where the hood meets the bellypan, that way you could pull the gun out in motion. you don't need a gun to kill coyotes from a sled.;):D
