Well.. I just got back from the Stort run, I missed the long one yesterday.
Twas fun.. Supposed to be about 55miles, the odometer on my sled says closer to 60...
I didn't plan to go, but I figured it would be a good time to pop by and ask questions, but I ended up going.. didn't win anythin.. but I think it was one of the best rides I've been on. I started with the cleanup crew.. they stopped when they caught up to some other people stopped taking a break...
I continued on.. twas a blast.. got a decent speed on the trails, got some small air...(wasn't trying, wasn't familiar with the trails) Passed alot of people when they stopped at the check points.. they were takin breaks, I stopped long enough to get my number and away I went... second check point I hung around for a few minutes, my throttle hand was cramping...
Passed alot of people pulled over having smoke/rest breaks...
Saw one guy with a SnoWest ball cap...
On the way back I twas all not another sled in site... which was most of the trails for me... but I decided to be a dumb arse and was racing of sorts a logging truck on the road.... I caught up and passed him in the ditch.. kast second seeing and hitting ditches Dunno how many times I ended up cat walking doing 75mph... or almost going over the handle bars... pretty sure the truck driver got a good show heh... all is good... sled isn't hurt.. and I'm good...
I was joking with some of the organizers when i got back they should advertise a speed limit for the ditch running segment...
Before I left a local reporter showed up, he wanted to take a pic of a large group riding past him on their way out.. but most of the people had left before he got there... So he was told by one of the ladies inside to ask a rider to "perform" he wanted me to do donuts... cept one space was too small and the other was surrounded by cars... so I found a spot I could get some air.. but there was almost no landing zone... so I had to keep the jumps small(which I'm still a newb at.. thos other pictures I've seem with people 20ft... wow) and like the other flat lander pics/videos from the other day I only managed to stay on the sled once... once I landed on my head... but no injuries I'll have to get the pics later and post them up.
