Assualt track thoughts

Whats everyone using? The stock 2" or is there a better choice out there? Seems the stock is alittle stiff and tends to trench more then prefered.

The stock assault track is great for setup snow or spring riding but otherwise isnt very good in the powder. I swapped to the powder track and made a big difference. Save yourself some money and get a takeoff from a Pro, theres usually some in the swapmeet, you can always sell the stock track on there too. Lots of guys want them for their hillclimbers, its almost a wash moneywise then

So im not real familiar with tracks and all. But when u say powder track is that the name of the track?

He's referring to the 5.1 Polaris track that comes stock on the regular and Pro RMKs.

Its a longer, less rigid paddle on the track than the stock assault track. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I also think the powder track weighs about 4lbs less than the stock competition track on the assault

Here in AK pretty much everyone runs 155 Assaults with the 5.1/2.4" track swapped onto it. Best of both worlds IMO.
The Assault "competition" track trenchs like mad and just plain doesn't hook nearly as well as the 5.1 does in all but wet/heavy spring type snow.
