have two options ride back country in Utah. I am new to Polaris and have heard mixed reviews on the track that comes stock on a 2012 assault. my options are to run that track that is on it, or run a 155 off a dragon missing probably a total of 4 lugs. love to hear the thoughts on this.

Are you saying that you have the "Comp" track in it??

This one??

I would say you have one option, wouldn't even consider running the comp track unless it was that or not riding.

In my mind the comp track is just that. It's meant for sponsored racers in hard pack crap

It doesn't last long and isn't good at anything besides what it was designed for

So unless you have a race teams budget. Go the other way

The comp track should be the option when you order an assault, not the 5.1.

I know you said you only have two options but running a track with a bunch of missing lugs sounds like somethings wrong with it or it was beat to crap. I would buy a later model 5.1 or challenger extreme. I believe the dragon track is an earlier model version of the 5.1 and not near as good. Maybe the 09-10 dragon track is Ok but i know 08'> is crap. You can probably get a later model (12'+) 5.1 in new or perfect condition for less than $300.

i just swapped the track that came stock of my 11 assault for a track off an 09 dragon. rode for the first time since the swap today. Night and day difference... Best thing I have done to my sled
