I snowchecked an Assault Switchback and i did not get the upgrade to the gripper skis. I am in the uppermidwest and do about 70% off trail riding and 30% trail riding. The sled came with a trail skis and I am going to get something different. The stock skis are 5.25" wide and the polaris gripper skis are i believe 6.75" wide. I have read alot of positive comments on the gripper skis on this site. Since I am going to have to buy different skis, Should I get the gripper skis, or something different? I tried the HCS forum, but did not get any results. The other options i am considering are SLP Powder Pros or C&A XTX. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Grippers!

Assault SB Skis!

I did the same thing, Im from northern iowa, I traded my 11 in for a 12' because my dealer gave me a deal i couldnt turn down with the polaris satisfaction rebate...

I rode the 11 stock last year, made a few changes this year. One of them did include skis. I switched to the grippers. All things considered your dealer (if their like mine) should give you 10-15% off the grippers and the price comparison to the C&A's and other comparable ski's they come out to about half the price. havent had the chance to get them out on the snow yet, but if they live up to the hype they will be well worth it. I got one trip out west with it last year and that was one of my major complaints. Seemed like with the stock "rush" skis it dove a little in the soft snow. Anyway... my .02 on that. Have fun with it! Most fun and versatile sled i've ever owned!

2" track...

Nope... the assault sb all come with the rush skis. I ordered both my 11 and 12' with the 2" paddle and both came with "rush" skis.

I put XTXs on my '11 SB Assault and liked them alot. Tons of bite when you needed it and always tons of float. Running them on my '12 Assault RMK now. Keeping the Grippers as spares. Grippers are great skis also.

from my understanding there was an "international" model that came with the wide gripper skis, the 2" track and E/S - snowcheck only I think....
some dealers around here were selling the regular Assault w 2" tracks as an "upgrade", but still had the RUSH ski's
kinda why i went w the 600 RMK 144 instead
wanted the 144 track, 2" track, wide skis, but also didnt want to spend $13+k on a sled to get the international upgrades
I got a wicked deal on my RMK (under $10k CDN) so it really was a no brainer for me

I might have a lil less HP than the 800, but i have some goodies comin to help w that

overall tho, I have heard good things about the grippers, im sure you (OP) would be happy w them
im sure you could sell the RUSH skis for a bit as well, to offset the cost
