Assault RMK vs Pro RMK

I'm looking at a PRO RMK vs RMK ASSAULT. This will be my first mountain sled coming from a crossover. I still do some trail riding in MI, but spend more time in WY riding mountains. So, is the assault, by chance, better on trail than the PRO? And, is the Assault favored over the PRO in mountain powder riding? I don't do cornice drops or even too much jumping. Conversely, are the setups for the RMK line to make them a little more trail friendly?

Sorry, it looks like i put this in wrong part of forum... first post here...

If your not hitting jumps etc its not worth the extra weight of the assault the pro is still a very good handling sled on the trail, as long as your getting a 155". In my opinion.

you cant go wrong with either choice. I live in MI also and ride in WY, and MT. No complaints for the 900 miles I have put on my PRO 163. Works awesome in MI, and west.

I have an Assault and ride strictly in the Mountains. Many peeps told me I would be unhappy with the 155, but quite honestly I can't see a real need for anything more. The 155 got me through 3'-4' of fresh in the trees with no problem...and I'm not a lightweight by any means. I find that he Assault has a much better suspension as far as setting it up for an individuals riding. My .02

If you ride some trails in MI you might even want to consider the base model RMK with the extra front cooler or I believe you can add the cooler to the other models as well.

As a little experiment in our group, I left the comp track on my Assault on our first trip while the other guys had the 5.1 powder track. My sled stayed way cooler on the trailer without the need of dropping the scratchers, however it was a trenching machine.

I live in michigan and have a 2012 RMK Assault with the competition track with 233 miles on it and the 4 year warranty. I just got back from Togwotee in Wyoming. Let me know if you are interested in the sled as it is going up for sale.
