Assault problem

hey guys!

Just bought an assault and have around 100 miles on it this year so far. Extremely happy with the product, but I have an issue. Every ride, I get a 3-5 "jolt" of one cylinder operation. I cant seem to put it down if it happens when the sled is at a weird angle, or if on flat land. It runs on one cylinder for 3-5 seconds, and fires back on 2.

Anything to do with the ethanol plug? The fuel in canada has 10% ethanol in it, should that plug be in or out?

Fuel control unit problem?? Anyone have a similar problem?

Thanks!

no similiar problem, but if you have ethenol in your fuel then you have the correct plug in.

Known common issues that cause miss/bog type symptoms:
- Throttle Safety Switch
- Injectors
- Wiring shorting out, most commonly the wires to the grip warmer/headlight switches on the steering column but rubbing has been found in a number of locations, reference m8sandman's thread on this
- Loose wiring harness plug at ECU
- Throttle Position Sensor (wiring pinched, sensor dying, wires rubbed through)
- At least 1 ECU has been replaced for intermittent issues holding RPMs steady

That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there are others.

I am sorry to hear about your sled. I have not had any problems with my 11' RMK Assault... over 400 miles and no issues so far except for a new a-arm because of rock. Don't give up your hope. Your sled should be awesome once it's fixed.

I had the same problem and my dealer was able to make it happen on the stand by wiggling the connector going from the ecm to the injectors and the connector was bad. Replaced it and its running strong. Have them check there
