Assault/Dragon Handlebar Hooks?

The bar width with and the 90*'s was one of my very short list of "official" gripes on the PRO. The hooks grabbed my backpack strap on more then one occasion during testing.
I've already fixed mine and they look good sitting next to the mtn bar on the table! It's ultra lightweight now

For me the bars would physically ride better 1" narrower. The protapers with the controls don't really offer any room to chop down or you loose hand grip area. This is a chassis that requires much less physical torque to ride. Even in the most aggressively demanding fashion you don't have to torque the bars or dangle away from the sled as in the past.

I like the hooks also. To many times my hands slip off with the 45 degree hook, and sometimes the grip would come off with it. The 90 degree hook fixes this, no problems at all.

You guys need to invest in some ODI grips!
Here is why: There is no feeling in my end two fingers of my left hand and only 1/2 in my "your number one" finger of that hand. I ride with one finger always on the WOOO paddle so that leaves my thumb and one half numb tingly digit for hanging on. I get along just fine with the ODI grips...big plus!

i like the 90's better then the 45's except for ones thing. like f-bomb said I have had them grab straps on my backpack. I have been pinned under my sled while it was on its side because me backpack was hooked on the handlebars.
Rob/F-bomb, sell me your 90's!
I've alread bought two sets of your better boards and really don't have any other sleds for anymore!
I also convinced two of my brothers to buy your boards as well and my other brother bought two sets himself.

it really depends on the type of bars you are going to use..
i have the pro tapers on my rmk 900 with the 90 degree hooks...and i also have a set of fabcraft bars on my other rmk 900 and they DO NOT work...
the pro taper bars have a smaller inner diameter then the standard RMK/IQ bars..
so to answer your questions as vague as possible..it depends on what bars your using and the inside diameter, lol..

if you haev to BUY bars...i would either go on ebay and buy the pro tapers that are for the mini bikes, pits bikes...like the crf50 or xr50..they are the same bars as the assualts, but only like $60...polaris charges $120...BUT you will NOT have the same cross bar for a mountain bar if you get the ones on ebay..
OR...(MY personal choice)
get the RSI bars...Wade designed some that look like the pro tapers, they are 2014 heat treated aluminum, and you can get them in different rises..AND you can opt to use the mountain bar as well...
plus RSI bars are only $60

AND i believe the inside diameter is the same as the pro tapers...but you might wanna call wade and confirm before ordering

90 vs. 45. My .02 cents is this. There was about a 2-3 horsepower increase, a 6 lb weight savings and it clears 1/2" more snow when the sled is lying on its side because I fell off.
