I dont think it will be a problem..you will need to regear(something around 19/45 or 46) and play with the clutching..but it will pull it..........

ok i mix it up forsure i am a well built 225 and can throw the sled around easy does the steering go to complete **** when its this big?

i really dont think you would want to go with a 174 you cant really turn them, if youre set on a 174 polaris dont waste your time with an assault buy a dragon 163 put rail tip extensions on it and add A LOT of power its going to suck up a lot of hp to turn a 174 as well as being able to turn it. I would highly suggest running the assault as a 146 and put a camo extreme 2.5 on it, its going to wip around pretty easy but it will be stable since its wider than the dragon. Thats just my opinion think it through before you make any decision so you really are happy with your sled, and let us know what you go with and how you like it :beer;

174 is the best boondocking track ive ever riddin, i ride with some buds that had 153-54s they were stuck all the time there all rideing 174s. i have a 174 on my 700 theres no way a 136-141 sled wil hang with 174s atleast in our style off boondocking, its actually the only type of rideing there is here. yeah i will get flamed but its the truth make the switch clutch/gear accordingly you wont regret it. if your into jumping a 150ish track would be best for you kinda the best of both worlds

Your sled will turn the 174 just fine. As for boondocking it, I think it is easier. You don't have to be pinned everywhere you go.

And a guy would probubly wanna do some sort of u cooler. Talk to Van Amberge

3in would be sweet for deep deep fluf i just dont think it will work as good once the snow is a little harder i think the 2.5 is about perfect for all conditions 3in will fold alot easyier on hard snow

3" lug and width

I admit i have done limited research, but doesnt the 3" lug track only come
16" wide?

i agree but maybe he had a change of heart the assault wasnt what he thought or maybe he got a sweet deal just never know??????

oh its also his sled:D

yah i have a 155 i want to make a 144 for sask because i got a sweet deal. but you can also sell high and buy low if you have time on your hands to get what you want........ problem is 07/08 they didnt make a 144 700 or 800 for myself.

and you can make any sled into a big hit sled by stiffer shocks and rail stiffeners......

yeah i really don't see the point of getting an assault to put a 174 on it when its really set up for jumping and rough riding so puttin the 174 on it really defeats the purpose of having an assault

Agreed 100%

If you are going to do a lot of changes and stretch it to 174 you might as well just get a regular RMK, cheaper and then spend the money you saved on your mods and shocks.

thanks for all the comments and suggestions i bought the sled 220 miles 6000 bucks cant beat that i run an all air suspension front and rear i am making this sled my second sled for out west. i ended up sticking a 162 2.5 under it i found a track for 450 new in wrapping and couldnt pass it up!!!
