ASPEN-TAYLOR PARK Trail info needed

Wondering if anyone has any info on the trail system that runs from Aspen to Taylor park? I have some pals that would like to go from aspen to taylor & some other pals that would start @ Tincup and meet @ taylor.

thanks

Mark

I just had a buddy run Cottonwood and Tincup this past weekend. He said the trails were in good shape, Groomed over the passes. But he didn't run all the way to Taylor Park, I'm not sure what the trails look like once off the Mtns....

As far as the trails from Aspen to Taylo Park, you've only got one trail (that I know of): Taylor Pass. Never been up there in the winter time. In the summer you can run Pearl Pass (4x4 road) but it goes over some areas that if covered in snow could be pretty scary.....even on a sled.

The problem with meeting you buddies is you are real far north in comparison to Tincup. If the wind has been as bad in Taylor Park as it has everywhere else, Taylor PArk could be stripped of snow leaving you guys with 5 miles of dirt inbetween....

The trail is simple. I've ran from taylor park to aspen to have lunch so many times I can do it with my eyes closed. sounds like your starting in aspen so I'll go from there. Take the groomed trail till it ends all the way back and the ungroomed trail starts on the right. Hold on because if you haven't been that way before that is the worst trail I've been on in my life. Take that trail all the way out. that one is pretty self explanitory. Once you get to the top, out of all the meadows find the 4X4 posts. If you follow these posts they will take you over the pass. These are your trail markers they are couple hundred years apart. Once you get to the Taylor pass sign drop down to the lake below you. Towards taylor park. Once down on the lake head slightly left and this will take you around and downward. You should be able to pick up some tracks from there. The trail will take you down to the road to the Taylor Park Trading Post.
