It's supposed to go up from here....

I paid 80$ out of my pocket for "healthcare" last year. With this fine, my total healthcare cost for the year is $800!!! 10x/1000% increase.... Can somebody PLEASE explain the AFFORDABLE health act to me?!?

Trump for pres. It's extortion what this administration has done with healthcare

Hmmm.
My total health care for last year was ~$7,500 or ~$625 a month or ~$3.60 per hr.
$80 sounds good to me. The penalty is fricken stupid as hell.

By affordable I think they mean for your insurance company. Since it costs more and covers less . Got an $862.00 bill for my sons ingrown toenail. insurance covered 0.00%

In Wyoming, that adorable health care for a healthy family of 5 is $1800 a month. So luckily i qualified for the "to expensive in my area" exception. And haven't had to pay a penalty for the last 2 years

We pay 800$ a month for me, the wife, 1 child. That includes my wife's boss picking up 50% of hers. Affordable my ars!!!! The only people that call it "affordable" are the ones that weren't paying anything before the AHCA!!!!

The point of having everyone get insurance is so when an accident happens and it costs 50k for surgeries and such you aren't SOL trying to pay it back. I am sure you fellas probably can handle out of pocket payments, but for the young bucks who think they are indestructible and then get in an accident they are pretty much screwed.

And of course letting the government try to do something it never works out and it ends up being far more expensive than ever anticipated.

If That "young buck" we're to do the math on what he pays in premiums over 30 years the cost of a few medical procedures wouldn't seem all that expensive.. Unless you have cancer or need a new heart.

Otherwise indigent care

Nope. I'm Not poor, or needy.

I just won't pay their monthly premiums.

Broken leg when I was 18, plate and 5 screws, overnight at the hospital, a few ER visits here and there, CDL physicals every 2 years, regular eye, ear And dental appointments, 3 kids in the last 5 years and I don't owe any money to any doctor.

I know that mow!! But that would bring ya out of the shadows anyway! ;)

I can tell you from personal experience how expensive healthcare is when you are uninsured. my sibling's significant other had pancreatitis and had to go to the hospital with extreme abdominal pain. They ran a barrage of tests and held him in the hospital for a couple days. The whole thing ran about 30 grand. So I guess he could pay 1,000$ a year for insurance OR now pay this expense and then get insurance on top of it.

Again, health insurance isn't supposed for the run of the mill stuff. It should cover big things particularly. Obviously now a days people expect insurance to cover EVERYTHING and it defeats the purpose of having insurance in the first place(thus making it more expensive). If everyone just had catastrophic coverage it would dramatically reduce the amount of healthcare people receive and it would make it cheaper for everyone else.
