The point of having everyone get insurance is so when an accident happens and it costs 50k for surgeries and such you aren't SOL trying to pay it back. I am sure you fellas probably can handle out of pocket payments, but for the young bucks who think they are indestructible and then get in an accident they are pretty much screwed.
And of course letting the government try to do something it never works out and it ends up being far more expensive than ever anticipated.
What do you pay, Snowmow ?
Otherwise indigent care
I know that mow!! But that would bring ya out of the shadows anyway!![]()
If That "young buck" we're to do the math on what he pays in premiums over 30 years the cost of a few medical procedures wouldn't seem all that expensive.. Unless you have cancer or need a new heart.
I can tell you from personal experience how expensive healthcare is when you are uninsured. my sibling's significant other had pancreatitis and had to go to the hospital with extreme abdominal pain. They ran a barrage of tests and held him in the hospital for a couple days. The whole thing ran about 30 grand. So I guess he could pay 1,000$ a year for insurance OR now pay this expense and then get insurance on top of it.
Again, health insurance isn't supposed for the run of the mill stuff. It should cover big things particularly. Obviously now a days people expect insurance to cover EVERYTHING and it defeats the purpose of having insurance in the first place(thus making it more expensive). If everyone just had catastrophic coverage it would dramatically reduce the amount of healthcare people receive and it would make it cheaper for everyone else.
