Are the PRO A-Arms a little weak....?

My riding season is on hold because I toasted two in one day this week on my '11 Pro R. I'm not sure what I hit that took out the right one, but I know for damn sure what I hit that took out the left one. It was a large rock; it didn't move.

I used this as an excuse to upgrade to the '12 front end. It was $350 for new '11 LCAs or $750 for the entire '12 package. However, the '12 LCAs are $99 each vs. ~$175 for the '11. So when I f' one up again, it will be cheaper to replace the part.

Not really sure where your getting your info, but the part numbers and the price are the same for both the 2011 and 2012. $197 bucks for the lower control arm from Dealer cost parts which seems to be the cheapest place I could find on the Net.

Plowed into two trees out west not real high speed, but stopped me dead in my tracks! I thought for sure I would be replacing them, but pulled it out with help from three other guys and kept ridinig!! No weaker than previous A arms in my opinion!

Just going off of my bud with the rental fleet, and he has Pol, Doo, and Cat in this fleet, the only A-arms that he changes with any frequency is on the Poo's and he changes them often enough that he stocks 3 complete sets.

Not trying to bash as I will be on a Poo next year but the fact is that the A-arms are quite weak compared to other brands and that is what the OP asked, there is no need to justify, explain why or misslead.

I have bent both my upper and lower a arms on my pro after 500 miles but I ride 50% of the time in the tight trees and the two times I wacked trees (accounting for the two bends) i hit them hard and expected to look down and see a mess and was pleasantly surprised. I will just expect to replace one or two a year, just part of the game if you want to play hard.

Glad I'm not the only one. I'd rather replace an A-Arm over a other stuff any day but on the same note if you spend 10-12k on a sled parts should last more than 30 miles. Just my .02

You park funny too!

I'm gonna go the other way on this one. In the year and half I've had my pro, It hit alot of chit. Taken out mulitple bumpers, hooked trees hard enough to take out the windshield as I fly through it rather than over it, you get the point. I am still shocked in a pleasant way that I am still riding on the stock a-arms that it came with. I never would have thought that they would hold up to this kind of abuse. That said, I'm afraid of what's gonna happen next time out lol.

I agree, I bounced off a stump last weekend thought I destroyed the a arm or track. Bounced me hard. Tore a tie rod boot and just dinged the a arm. I figured it was shot but not at all, I will ride it until I bend it bad. Then replace it with a stock one.

Since 2007 I have replaced over 30 a arms on my poo's. I have thought many times of aftermarket arms. The only 2 reasons I havent is price and availability. I just wasted 2 more lowers last week on my 2011. First set I've replaced since getting my pro. Seeing how much the price has increased in the last year I may look at the holz or some others. I just think it would be a pain if I bend one and have to wait for and A arm to come all the way to the east coast. Spares are not readily available.Better to replace the a arms then bulkheads.

I thought the same about replacements, then I contacted the aftermarket manufacturers about it and found out different. I have tried many, just wish Polarry would bring the strength WAYYYYY up on the stockers. BTW my bulkhead is still perfect after wrecking many different chromoly aftermarket arms from different manufacturers.
