Are the Ktm air boxes problematic ?

Looking at a snow bike for next season and because of my salary I have to start planning now.

Looking into a 2012+ 450 Ktm for the heart of my build but have heard of air box issues. Have these been figured out? What does a guy have to do to be able to ride all day problem free in 3' of fresh?

Either a 450 fuelie Ktm or a yz450fx but I'm thinking an older Ktm may be a bit cheaper.

I run a 2008 KTM 505 xc-f and have not had any issues with the air box. I run a super lightly oiled filter with a "filterskin" and it was fine.

Just run a pod style/turbo sled style filter and remove/cut out the air box

That's what most people around here do

The 2014+ Yamaha stock air box is better but noisier

This is what I did you the air box on my 2016 300 XCW. Bought another for dirt use. It was only $40 retail. I'll be running the Timbersled with the TSS setup.
