Are Snow-bikes the future of our sled industry?

No, not for me anyway. Never really got all that interested in the bikes, rode some but just wasn't my thing. The kits look interesting and would be fun to try. But I don't see me trading out the sleds, to each his own I guess.

I rode with a guy that was riding a 800 piped snohawk and it
was amazing what he could do on it and where he could ride and the places he took that bike u could never take a sled where he went and it looked like he didnt have to work very hard to side hill or go threw the trees i wont switch to 1 cause dont have any 1 other than him that has 1 but he said that these kits are nice for motorbikes but they only push 50 60 horse and your going to work the guts out of the motor compared to the snowhawk with power like a sled just what ive been told

It is probably just a fad, how long did the snohawk last? With that being said...I think they look like a blast to ride.

The snohawk didnt die because of the design, The manufacturer quite making them because they did not know how to market their product to the right people. I love the snowbike craze, hopefully one of the big four will pickup and build a purpose built one ski machine. When those riding all conversions get comfortable riding them and are lusting for more power, throw your leg over a 160hp engine in a hawk chassis and you will start to understand. The bike kits look fun and are a great start. But I will stick with my hawk until someone can come close to the power I have.

Not a fad. Timbersled is sold out of kits for this year by mid December. They now offer three different kits now also. 121, 137, and 121 snocross/trail. They made a kit that works. The other kits don't compare. It is just another awesome option for the snow.

Hmmmm .... ok, now I'm interested .... what does the "snowcross/trail" kit consist of? Just a different track than the others?

Snocross one has a third shock on top and uses a snowhawk track. I believe the shock allows for more transfer to get the front ski up when needed and it may give more travel also.
