Arctic Cat Snow Bike

In case any oem's are looking.
Heres the target they need to shoot for.
I have cash in hand. :)

340#
120 hp. V twin two stroke DI.
12"x146x3.2" track
Cvt drive.
Cmx style double ski front end.
 
It's a snowbike that Camoplast built up for Arctic Cat and attached to a Sherco bike.

Pretty sad when a manufacture pays another to develop a key potential product for them. I for one, would not consider it for that fact alone.

Sad that Cat and Yamaha are the fat twins nobody gives a second look to anymore (yes there are some chubby chasers that still do) but as a rule they are both out of the game and fighting each other for last place. No BS outsourced publicity stunt is going to change that fact.

It's obvious that this "display" is NOT a dedicated "turnkey" snowbike... but rather an bike with a "kit" mockup.

Some sincere questions.

Was this bike ever brought down to street level and put on display for the public?

Did Arctic Cat, at any time during HayDays, actually display and talk about this snowbike INSIDE of their booth... or answer, Officially, any questions about the bike that is stuck on the top of the display??

When an actual Arctic Cat employee, in the booth, was asked "Hey... what's that snowbike on the roof with the Arctic Cat decals on it?"... what was the official reply?

is that anything like when a manufacture gets wind that a diff manufacture is testing a snow bike .they then run out and buy a company building a snow bike kit? is it at all like that?
I my self cant wait to see what oem brings one ready to ride with a warranty to market first. they will sell the chit out of them
 
looks interesting i myself cant wait for a true 100% snow bike with something like a 600 in it, i hope something like that gets built at least
 
OEM SNOWBIKES?

Unfortunately the OEM's have a lot of work left to do. They just want to show that they soon will be in the game.

NO!
Camoplast has no history with snow bike development other than making tracks for them. Additionally I would not ride a TS or a TS / Polaris developed snow bike either. But that's just me, I don't ride stock anything, as warranty means nothing to me. I build all my own stuff.

camoplast may not have a kit out. but that dose not mean there development in many many many tracked conversions and tracked equipment over the last 30yrs or so would not give them the edge on some guy bolting stuff together in his garage. pretty sure they have a few competent engineers on staff.
I have a good bud who was in charge of building spec 1 off tracks for them for yrs. I met him in a bar in N WI my trailer was parked out side with covers on.
2 days latter we stopped at a large gathering of sleds on a trail in N MI. some guy yells hay are u from MN . I walk back about 100 yards take off my helmet
he pulls his. it was the guy from the bar. he recognized my stud pattern in the snow. yes he saw it when I pulled out of the bar I had to back trailer to the window for a solid 10 seconds. yeah think they have a few people over there who are really in to there job.

Why the double front ski? I admit, it looks cool, but I'm not sure how it'll stack up to be honest.

Some dirtbikes won't even be able to run that style ski setup due to SFF (Compression and rebound not being in the same fork). And the belt drive is meh, it could be slightly lighter, but I still don't think it would be as reliable as a chain.

The stuff they march out as their best work is someone elses.

theres probably some NPT threads and pipe tape on that thing somewhere...

Yeah, CMX kits come with Raptor's double ski kit.

It is. And they claim it works with the new comp/rebound single legs like the 4CS forks.

I really don't see how. I forgot to ask the rep I talked to at haydays about that when I was there. The reason they work on bikes is connection of the axle between the forks. If I remember right, Kawi put a larger front axle bolt on their 250f's when they came out with the SFF for that sole reason.

Nonetheless, they look cool. If I wasnt so lazy, I'd post some pics from Haydays of them...
