Arctic Cat - another made in China product?

People complaining about the problems with the procross because of the chinesium parts, is Arctic Cat another made in China product?:gossip:

Went to Sears two weekends ago to buy some more CRAFTSMAN tools and guess what????? YEP, they said "made in China" on them...I was sooooooo disapointed. So yeah, what doesn't have at least some China crap in them?

What's a procross? We don't ride those here.:face-icon-small-win

This ain't snow-east yo.

13 posts and you land on him? At least point him to the Procross section if you are going to berate him. Oh wait, no Procross section here:face-icon-small-con

Interesting that you are a mod on the Cat site that has a procross/proclimb section.

He started a generic thread complaining about something with no detail or background that will dissolve into stupidity and used the word 'chinesium'

C'mon... it's a joke. He starts a thread stirring chit (like SNOWMOW in the poo section:face-icon-small-sho) he's got to expect to get at least a little harassment in return!

Some folks need to lighten up a tad... this is serious bidness here.

And btw... I don't pick on someone in the procross section on there about posting about trail sleds, what would be the fun in that??? :D

Yeah, China needs to up its game if it wants to stay competitive in selling the endless stream of junk that western society demands. Wally Mart and all those dollar stores that are so successful must not have a clue what they are buying. 'Geez Bob, we have the Chinese quoting us a complete dining room set for $9, it must be still good!'. Lol

They should make quality stuff like Pintos, Vegas, Harleys, LeBarons, Oldsmobile diesels and the like, just like America.:face-icon-small-ton

Hey now! Vega's were a POS but they looked cool. kinda like a mini Camaro. I had 1 with a 350 in it,it was bad ***. Sorry, off topic.

Gotta admit they did look sorta funky. A friend had a Monza with a V8 which I thought was kinda cool too.

remember a lot of stuff made in China for North American vehicle/rec application has the specifications set by the purchaser/importer that eventually resells to us so its not often China's fault although they often try to cheat or fool the importer.

Not sticking up for China here but, the Jap stuff in the early 60's was every bit as bad. Find an aluminum part from a mid 60's Jap bike and break it, and check the quality. You may even find dirt as filler. And of course we know the Japs picked up there quality pretty quick and see where it is now.

But as said earlier in this thread, if we ask them for junk by voting with our wallet that's what we will get!

Yeah, remember when Hyundai first came to these shores? And where are they now? While we sit there and complain and laugh they just keep moving. Was in Korea several years ago and my first thought was how they are a separate world that makes us look like we are sleeping.

Just bought a CNC turning center and after comparing 5 models from three continents I picked a Korean Doosan. Good quality, bang for the buck, and they stand behind it. The one American model in the hunt was produced in Korea!

I hate to do offshore purchases but I am not going to pay substantially more for the same or inferior product either.

Yeah BCIL cause you ride a crossover with narrower a arms :D just kidding!

Just kidding??? That IS what I rode for years!!! :D I kill me some trails with my crossover sled!!!

Funny, guys talk about how "short" the 146 is I have now... it's a friggin GIANT compared to my 41's!!

I'd agree with stingray though, if you think about it, japanese stuff had the same rep chinese does now... it all comes down to which place is making it, and what tolerances/ quality they're required to make it to. A buddy of mine goes back & forth to different plants in China for work, he always talks about how some of the places are at american level or better of MFG... and some are full on 3rd world level junk. (he works for an "American" bike mfg.)
