Whatever, People use windows on their macs because of the monopoly of the windows based software you have to run. I use windows for exactly what i have to and thats it and never for the net. Don't want want cooties, which you don't get with the mac

I agree..

I use windows but refuse to co-mingle it on the mac. It is just easier to have a seperate lap top for those needs. And generally those needs are all business related anyway. IF you are getting this for home use Mac is the only way to go.

So what exactly are you saying here? I think its pretty obvious windows has the monopoly, thats great you use windows as little as possible, so whatever what?.

Mac is making a big step forward in user numbers.
They used to be the joke of the industry for all the bubble type monitors and such.
The one thing I hated with a PC, is that I needed a new motherboard every 2 years, then a new sound card, then it was the power pac, then the....

It was hundred dollaring me to death the last year, and I wanted to go in a different direction.
I think the market for PC stuff is too vast, too many crappy manufacturers making junk, then having drivers for the junk to fix junk, which confuses me.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a store p.c. buyer, I built my own personal system,,, from the tower to installing the board to the drives to the power systems to playas to thewhachamacllit
Got sick of the low budget generic add ons
Take your windows PC and open all your applications and see how it responds. You will find that the problems will haunt you.

Though a little juvenile, "whatever" was in responsponse to your rederick about macs being the in thing like iPods. Bottom line pal is macs work every time. I bet you ride polaris too cause they sell more. Truth is I'm glad they sell less macs because they don't have the demand to put second and third rate sh!t in their machines. I switched both my offices over to mac and I have a lot more riding time now that I don't have motherboard and video card and processer and network failures. LONG LIVE THE MAC!!!!

Well, I ran into the same situation about 2 months ago. My 6 year old laptop failed (epic). So I started looking around. I'm not a mac fan because the last mac i had (03) crashed every time i used it. it was slow, awkward, and rediculously expensive.

So I went to circuit city, bought a gateway with 6 GB of RAM, 640 GB hard drive, quad core AMD processor, 22 inch LCD monitor, less than 1000 bucks out the door. Came with Vista. Don't believe the hype that vista sucks. It works just fine. Default settings lag a little, but tune it up it's quicker than xp.

I picked up a macbook pro from a friend last week for a good deal. I have always wanted to try one and the price was right. It takes some getting used to though. Had to figure out how to install apps the mac way. How to open apps the mac way. The keyboard shortcuts are another learning experience. Took a little time to find an external drive with Firewire connection too. So far I really like it. Apps install in 1/10 the time a PC would take. I have 3 laptops and 2 desktops at home and I'm getting tired of the windows updates that seem to do more harm than good lately. IT people are telling me to avoid the latest Service Pack 3 update. I've already had to restore one laptop cause it updated automatically and killed a few things. I'll be editing some video this weekend so that will be the first test for mac. Next week I'll install CS3 and start working in Flash. Then I'll have some real life comparisons to determine if it was a good buy or just another gadget I have around the house.

I just bought my wife a laptop and I think you're full of chit. If that's the case I just bought a brand new turbo nytro for under 10k on propane. Why don't you go ahead and scan in that reciept and post it up

What am I full of chit about? I'm not sure your worth my time with the whole scanning the receipt thing, seeing as I don't have a scanner, but yeah, the 'puter itself was 680, monitor was 250 on sale...

But here's a link to the 'puter I bought. This one only has 4 GB of RAM and a little bit different processor which is why it's so much cheaper than the one I bought....

What is wrong with you? I was simply explaining that a mac is pretty much like a PC nowadays, where did I put down your prescious mac that you dearly love so much? I agree with you mac makes a good product, if you read my post it states that a mac nowadays is like a high end PC, so are you argiung with this? because this is basically what I had posted. I think Mac makes a great product, you delusional bud, your arguing about something that I never disputed to begin with, mac is the cool thing to have right now..... so what? does that offend you? its the truth, its a clever marketing campaign, you dont think it is? And I ride a Ski-Doo is says right in my profile

I am sorry how I mentioned macs being the cool thing to have, I can see how that would upset you! idiot.

I didn't read your profile for the simple fact that you mean as much to me as an azz boil. I took your post as the only reason people buy macs is because they are the in thing. Idiot

WOW!

This thread took a turn for the worst...

Macs are cool, stable, user friendly, I think for the most part, is the operating system. I am sure you can't just go and buy it on a shelf.
