I installed the timber/iceage combo......went out for a test ride a week ago(20 miles) snow was marginal on the trail to 2' off trail......my sliders are f##ked...I installed the yamaha graphite sliders....I was running the track fittle string tight (no sag) with avid drivers......if you look at the picturs the slides are completly gone until the last foot by the rear wheels.....whats the problem? Track to tight? shatty sliders? Limiter straps not suck up enough? How loose can the track be with the avids?

That Sucks!!

I just went and looked at mine and everything looks good. Now have probably got 200Kms on my skid. Stock Yamaha sliders with a 1" of sag??
Call me in the AM,

Ryan,

why you running the track so tight?

also... i know it's a dumb question but did you have your ice scratchers down and were they down the whole time.

read in the past with the timber setup that you have to run the track fairly tight to avoid the rails stabbing through.

turblue, if your running some anti stab wheels, and you have the avids I would run the track a little looser. I'm guessing it's that hot new color combo you have on that sled that is melting them things down so fast.lol

when you coming to pick up this drum. need to get my trailer cleaned out so I can put a sled in there.lol call me tomorrow.

There was enough snow on the trail after about 4 miles........It doesn't make sense if it was to tight of a track it shouldn't of wore on the flat part of the rails as it did.....it wore all the way back to the wheels....it all most looked like it was shaved off not melted.....this track was running the other way and I put it on backwards...maybe there was a edge on the track clips or something...

Wonder if your track is not aligned and to tight on one side.

If you did not smell the tell tale melting hyfax smell then I bet there are sharp edges on the clips that shaved down the sliders from running the track backwards. But as I have stated before, I am not a doctor, nor do I even play one on TV.

Well this is what the slides look like......I think the track was just to tight....there was globs of melted plastic on the drivers....also there is slight grooving at the base of the extroverted drivers......too tight I guess
