Apex - built motor break in

Just did JE Pistons and Carillos. I like to heat cycle my stuff 2x and run it hard with a varied throttle position but I would like opinions from those that run a built motor

I warm it up run up the road up and down thru rpm range for 5-10 miles then ride it like I stole it, its always worked for me. 1000 boosted miles on my nytro last year and when I did leak down test this summer it was 2% across all cylinders.

Yeah buddy. Always change your oil after the first ride too .

I thought I would add that you make sure when first start up that you have oil returning to the tank if you didnt prime the oil pump you will need to do this easy way to do it with out taking the motor back out is to put a vac pump onto the return line it will take a while but it will work should have oil out of the return write away also I would run a conventional oil on the breakin of the motor :beer;

two tanks of fuel no or low boost.
piming the oil pump is very important.. just put air 5 psi to the oil filler. pull the oil line off of the turbo wait for oil

I pretty much agree. I would change the oil after the first heat cycle to get rid of all the assembly lube and crap used while the engine was built. Then let it warm and up and take it for a rip. Vary your rpm, hit all rpm ranges, and let the engine do all the braking when slowing down. Dont be affraid to boost it as long as you have a good tune there will be no problems.
