Good stuff.
How far away are they shooting from? Did I hear them say they were 30mm guns? There is some delay between the shot and the impact.

Holy crap.. @ 14:10...they lit that guy up like the 4th of July.

Was the last one a DIRECT hit?

This all reminds me of gopher hunting in the mountains. "We've got a mover to the left...". HAHA

I was doing a little whining at my office yesterday about paying my tax bill, but if I just keep telling myself I funded the 30mm ammo for that awesome display of firepower, it's all good!:face-icon-small-coo

Really tough to discern what is going on. I wonder how they stay coordinated enough to ensure that they don't have a friendly fire incident? Watching this, I can definitely see how that could happen. The taliban guys didn't stand a chance. Can you imagine what they were thinking as their fellow terrorists are getting blown up by missiles? The couldn't surrender even if they wanted to. Sad thing is, some of those people hate us so much, even if they saw this video it wouldn't scare them enough to stop them.

all that firepower and a decade later we are still there fighting. something is majorily wrong.

This.

The fact that we thought/think we can is the problem. You can't force our way of life on these people, nor can you bomb them into the stone-age...they are already there. Can we just leave already so we can stop wasting American lives and resources?

we are not trying to force our life-style on them...if you have forgotten, these people are the ones who provided safe haven for bin lauden, so he could train the people who bombed embassies, the trade center buildings, killing thousands of innocents....the taliban continues to pursue actions with their own people that to put it mildly, are barbaric to the extreme...it is easier and more effective to fight them in afganistan and pakistan than the streets of new york city...we didn't bring this war to them except after the fact of them bringing it to us...don't get all dewy eyed over someone who would slit your throat, or your wife and kids if given half a chance....i have lived as a civilian with the muslims of that area for over two years....they are predominately an ignorant, dogmatic people who will follow an idealoge mullah to any end he tells them to...as always, war is hell...tough on the individual soldier of either side, but if it's him or me that dies, let it be him...again, they engaged the war, they can't cry too loud if it doesn't go their way....nor will i....:face-icon-small-coo

If I have forgotten? Dewy eyed?

Have you served in the military?

I don't think he has seen some of your other posts...I have. I also have a brother that has served in two branches of the military. He was a sniper in the Marine Corps, and just recently returned from Afghanistan (he is now a PJ in the Air Force). He feels much like you, as do many of the other guys in his unit. I tend to form my opinions based on facts that I have gathered from people who have actually been there, NOT what the media portrays. The terrorist problem is such a complex one, I don't think it can be limited to one particular area of the world. I wish I had the answers to solve it, or make it better, but I don't. All I know is that it absolutely breaks my heart every time I see a soldier getting killed over there.

question for the guys in the military.

If this country fought like it did in WWII would the war be over by now?

It seems like we send people over seas to fight and than tell them the rules of engagement are so strict they can't ever do what they where sent over to do.

And you don't see what is happening? You don't see the total drain that this has become on us?
there are bigger drains on us than the war on terror.at least its a good cause.welfare and lazy people rank much higher as a drain on our country than anything.im all for wiping out the taliban no matter how long it takes.if we back out and let them regroup and grow they will strike again.my .02

a video of an apache gunning down taliban is about as likely to convince taliban to quit fighting... as a video of a bunch of taliban flying planes into buildings is going to convince the west from staying out of the middle east.

quite the opposite in fact. stirring up a hornets nest is more like it.

now i'm not pro-taliban or anything, but i often wonder... how far would i have to be pushed before i would decide that traveling half way around the world, learning to fly a plane, lying in wait for the right timing, then hijacking a plane, and using it to kill myself and thousands of others, was the right thing to do??? or even go up the chain of command a little- what would it take before i would be willing to plan, finance, recruit people and convince them to kill themselves, send them to hit a target on the opposite side of the world, and kill thousands of civilians in the process, all while placing myself on the hit-list of the worlds most lethal military?

seems like a big decision to make. something tells me that the west isn't quite as innocent as we'd like to believe. a strong love for allah, and the lure of 72 virgins just seems a little too thin of a reason for me to believe.
