ANYONE WITH EXPERIENCE WITH 2000-2006 SILVERADO 2500HD TIRES

My 03 k2500 hd rubbed very slightly on the valance corner when turning with 265/75/16 hankook rf10 w/stock wheels
torison slightly cranked up to match the plow

Lots of new take off Dodge 8 lug wheels/tires on CL here.

I know there is a cutoff with the GM wheels ... something like 2011 and up will not fit previous models...

Hope you can tell me what Dodge rims will fit the 2006 2500HD-LBZ's??

Can't find a pic of my old Dmax, but 265s on stock wheels worked fine, no rubbing.
Another easy, cheap upgrade from an appearance (IMO) and functional standpoint is lose the 16" narrow rims for 17" 3rd gen Dodge rims, or pretty much any other flavor of 17-18" Ram wheels.
The 17's are cheap, takeoff sets are dime a dozen on Craigslist and they're 17x8, so wider than the OE wheels. GM lug nut caps fit right over them too. Look it up, I think it freshens up an old truck nicely.
Ran 265-70-17s on Dodge weels on the CHevy for years.

the dodge wheels should fit gm 8 lug 2010 and older, they are all 8x6.5

Hey Mountainhorse-- I just ran across this post.

I ran BF 285/75/16 on Dodge wheels on my 2005 2500HD. I did not adjust the torsion bars and did not have a leveling kit. I also didn't do any trimming. I did have to add 1/4 or 3/8 inch wheel space to the fronts only. This was to compensate for the off set on the Dodge wheel. The inside of the the tire would just BARELY rub. I still used the stock lugs as there was plenty of thread on the stud. I got so many compliments on that wheel/tire combo.

Damn- I wish I had that truck back.

Ram wheels are still 8x6.5 bolt pattern up thru current models. Pretty much any Dosge/Ram 8 lug will fit. But I've only run the 3rd gen wheels like the fella who put up pics of his black truck.
Same wheels as OE on my 07 dodge that I've since swapped out for 4th gen Ram 20s.
I bought this set of wheels brand new with new OE tires a couple years ago for a grand.
Seemed like a heck of a deal to replace my wore out tires and beat up rims for less than the cost of most sets of new tires alone.

I know I said I like the Revo 2's and they have worn well. Now that I am getting older I am wanting Maximum snow and ice traction with out going to a snow tire. Is there any all terrain tire out that that handle great in these conditions and wear well in an E rated tire. Goodyear Silent Armour I've heard are the some of the best for this. I had a set years ago on my surburban and so did my buddy on his 2500. They were amazing in the snow. The problem I see now they no longer make this tire in a 16"

I really like the look of the Duratrac and have read good things except for they are not E rated and wonder because of sidewall flex. I don't want anything to do with that.

Any ideas?

I know a couple with the Duratracks and they are happy with them. They are using them as winter only tires and switch out in the spring.

I personally went with the BFG All-Terrains this winter on my Ram 2500 and could not be more impressed. By far the best winter tire experience I have ever had with a tire that is not a dedicated snow tire. Great traction on snow and ice and you don't hear them going down the road. I only have about 8,000 on them so far but they show no wear signs at all. I will however swap them in the spring back to a summer set of tires as I have head they do not wear well in the summer months. The only complaint (if you want to call it that) is they did drop my MPG a bit as they are a heavy tire and that was noticed the moment they went on the truck. But I cared more about winter traction then MPG with my winter set of tires.

New A/T tires have this ~

n 1999, The U.S. Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) and the Rubber Association of Canada (RAC) agreed on a performance based standard to identify passenger and light truck tires that attain a traction index equal to, or greater than 110 (compared to a reference tire which is rated 100) during the specified American Society for Testing and Materials traction tests on packed snow. The new standard helps ensure that drivers can easily identify tires that provide a higher level of snow traction.

Severe Winter Logo A three peak mountain/snowflake symbol branded on the tire's sidewall identifies tires that meet the required performance in snow testing.

Note: A Highway Safety Code regulation passed September 17, 2008 for Quebec, Canada, stipulates that:

"Between 15 December to 15 March, the owner of a taxi or passenger vehicle registered in Quebec may not put the vehicle into operation unless it is equipped with tires specifically designed for winter driving, in compliance with the standards prescribed by government regulation. The prohibition also applies to any person renting out passenger vehicles not equipped with that type of tires."

Starting December 15, 2014, the Highway Safety Code regulation specifies only tires bearing the three peak mountain/snowflake symbol will be considered acceptable winter/snow tires in Quebec.
