Anyone wear a kidney belt while riding?

Tekvest-Snell approved brain bucket- HMK boots-Impossible to sprain ankles- and wrist supporters. Looking for a good set of shin protectors but im not sure i see how they help but i will try em out.

Don’t see a need for the kidney belts yet. Maybe later this year or in a year or two. If I get to much gear im afraid I might do to much stupid stuff and not come home one day.

Depending on where I ride...... I think ill start wearing one this year though.. I mean, im just getting up there in age and everything..;)..LOL

I've always wore one, comes from motocross days, but nowadays lots of young guys don't even wear one for moto anymore.....I guess things change.

sometimes i even wear mine for a couple of days after i'm done riding, depends on how many times i got stuck over the weekend!!! i've got a fox one right now but have had probably every kind made over the last 30 years or so. god how old does that make me:eek:

Yep wear one all the time. The brand I have is Thor. If you are looking to buy one, I'd go with one that provides the best adjustment variety and velcro. I've seen some that have extra side pulls that really pull the sides in snug. IMO, that is what you should be looking for.

I'm 25 and have worn one since I was 18. Sledding and Biking. Don't know if I benefit from it, but it doesn't hurt a thing to have ti one and I don't notice until it's 95 degrees out and I've been riding all day.

Still use the same ole Flak Wrap kidney support I've worn for years
I don't ride without it

I have one, but have never wore it. Whats the point of them? Isnt it to keep your belly sucked in if you have one?

always.....i use one from R.U. Outside....good support without being stiff and uncomfortable....keeps lower back warm so there's less chance of a muscle pull...especially on those deep powder days when i have to pull out sleds...also nice on the trail ride back.....it's called The Back Thing

They are to keep your back from bothering you. It's amazing how well they work. When I first started riding a dirt bike (in my mid 20's) my back really started bothering me any time I did quite a bit of riding. I tried using a kidney belt and it made a world of difference.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the responses. I think I'll go ahead and buy a kidney belt for sled riding.
