Anyone watching Felix Baumgartner's jump?

I am now, thanks. I get nervous when I jump off a twenty foot cornice, can't imagine what he's going thru right now.:jaw:

I have been following this for several days. So many variables makes for a very interesting project. Good luck Felix and support staff.

That spin looked rough! How he didn't pass out or throw up in his helmet is pretty impressive in itself. The jump in 1960 interests/amazes me a little more, but human feats are always awesome!

Wow, I was watching the live feed and 729 is as fast as it got before the numbers started to decrease.

Copy & Paste from Yahoo article.....

According to Brian Utley, who's responsible for FIA certification, roughly one minute into his jump Baumgartner reached a top speed of 833.9 mph, a new record for a skydiver. That also means he successfully broke the sound barrier, reaching Mach 1.24.

I am certain that Mr. Utley had a more accurate means of determining top speed than I did on my laptop. lol:face-icon-small-win

That took some balls to make the step off the capsule platform. Looked like an alien heading back to Roswell for the first minute or so.

Why would he not have had a helmet cam?

The wild tumbling along with 800 plus mph would have made for very unique footage.

he was wearing multiple cameras. im sure it's a matter of time before they show those videos

I'm watching it right now...(recorded it).

I'm not reading this thread so I can avoid the spoiler...

He's at 122k feet right now and climbing.
I can't belive how huge the balloon is...and how much it's expanded in the last 30k feet.

Stay tuned....LOL

Honestly, that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

My guess as to why he didn't make the freefall time record was because he dropped so FAST that he covered his distance to auto chute deployment level too soon.

Otherwise....FRUCKIN COOL!!!!

My 9 year old son said "I hope they save that capsule because....I'm gonna need it".
HAHAHAH
