Anyone Use These Billet Throttle Body Boots?

i got them. seem great to me dont know why you would want to spend more when these seem to do the job so well

I have them. Have had to replace the bolts holding everything together twice since they've broke (grade 8's too). Not the billet boots fault though. They are real nice. Still way easier than replacing the rubber boot. Might try to make a way to hold them together with exhaust springs over the summer. That should help since the vibrations of the motor are whats making these bolts break. Maybe put eyebolts in the bolt holes and double spring between the airbox and boots. Maybe they would blow off but I'll try it next year.

thats got me thinkin now since i broke one too. what about using a longer bolt and putting a small spring and washer on it too take the vibration

There lays the dilemma of doing away with the rubber boots that blow out but take a huge amount of harmonics or a more rigid design that prevents blow outs but with the cost of transferring destructive vibrations.:face-icon-small-con

We have never had a problem. We do not mount the air box rigid so the vibes can still transfer and move around.

no we still mount the box to the bracket we just don't mount the air box solid to the chaissis. that way there is still some flex and movement. so the air box and all become part of the motor. never had a problem with that.

mine snapped almost instantly when i was out last weekend. i am pulling the whole works and getting solid aluminum bar that i will drill and tap on both ends and put in some larger bolts. my logic tells me this is a lot better than a long skinny bolt. i was going to use rubber bolt grommets to absorb some of the vibration and such but i think this may be the better way to go

Anyone use these billet throttle body boots?

Here's my fix. I ride on 13 miles of ungroomed trails each time I go out. 26 miles of bouncing and the harmonics of the new Pro was hard on my intake system. I've broken bolts and ears off the throttle bodies. I tried drilling and taping .625 steel rod. The heads broke off the bolts. I've even broken the straps holding my extra gas can. This is extreme. I moved my airbox to the tunnel on top of the jackshaft. Connected it to the throttle bodies via turbo flex hoses. So far I've had over 100 miles on that same ungroomed trail with no problems.

that would be sweet.. except my intercooler has o-ring seals like the throttle body boot. i was hoping the silicone couplers on the charge pipe would give enough if i could get something solid enough between the flange on the throttle bodies and flange on intercooler
