Anyone try a tune on 9r?

I don’t think there are many options out there. Silber had one. I talked to speedwerx about it and they haven’t came up with one that really improves it over factory which is probably why there aren’t any out there. It seems like a higher compression head is your best option unless you really like tuning you could try to work your way through the twin pipe tuning

I never even gave it a thought, it's so good. It's the only stock sled I've ever left stock! My only mods are CFR FTP riser and Misfit bars. It's not a Turbo, but it's just so responsive.

My thoughts exactly. My dad’s 9r has a can just to hold the muff pot. It’s so amazing I’m not sure what you’ll get out of a tune on a NA sled.

After a little thought, I have an HPS can which lost about 8 pounds and a Munster Finger throttle too. I own a 23 Boost Khaos 155 and 2 2024 Doo Turbo Rs as well. I still think in many situations the 9R Khaos 155 is just more fun and less tiring to ride. As for price, they are all ridiculous.
On an unrelated note, I rode my Buddies new 154 Catalyst with QS3s. After a bit of shock tuning and messing around, I gave it back to him. It just doesn't feel alive to me. Kinda sad really, and needs a turbo badly.

I have been running VOHKs Avgas tune on my 9r since new . It for sure cleans up the bottom end and runs really well . Give them a shout I would buy it again.
What does something like that cost? Do they reflash your ECU themselves or do you have to have a tuner?

You buy a tuner and install the tune yourself. I recall it being ~$450 for the tune and another $300 for the tuner. Usually they sell it along with clutching for another ~$400 as a package.

like others said you buy the VTI and flash it yourself . You can put multiple Vins on one tuner and also clears codes , relearns things etc . I have both my boost and 9r running his tuning . Give them a shout they will give you all the details. Yes they have clutch packages with it as well . I use TRS setups though on my sleds.

If I do a tune on my 9R it will be from VOHK. I believe they can eliminate the stupid brake warning program as well.

What do you feel you gained? What elevations do you ride?
