I hate having to reach down to the console when i'm riding at night, Especially when your running down a trail and want to be able to switch back and forth. Has anyone tried to move the switch up to the bars? Is there anyone with a suggestion on what switch to use? another polaris sled that just has a separate HIGH/LOW switch on the bars?

yeah they were really thinking when they did that one.........It's a little sketchy reaching down on the trail at 80MPH to hit the switch!

I thought about doing it, it can be sketchy feeling for the switch on the trails that's for sure. The old school high low selector Polaris used on the Pro-x models would work. It might be hard squeezing it onto the left side handlebar on the stock Pro Tapers.

To be honest the high low and hand thumb warmer switch from the regular RMK worked well and is much more user friendly than the Pro switches. I think if you had to you could make it work. Nice thing is that the switches are the biggest complaint I have about my PRO.

That would require swapping out the master cylinder too though.

News flash.... You purchased a purpose built sled... Not built for 80mph, nor the trail & riding in the dark, gets you hurt! At least in the terrain the pro was built for! Just my thoughts...

Don't worry I know what I bought, I just like trying to make things better for my riding habits. I ride 70% backcountry and 30% trails but most of my trail riding is at night with the guys.

You might want to take a look at the left side handlebar switch setup on the old Edge sleds - heaters and high/low beam. Old enough now that many of them are being sold for parts -- check eBay. Just a thought. :yo:

Although I do ride my 50/50 crossover SB Assault off trail as much as possible I still end up on the trail where you can meet oncoming sled traffic. I also do not like to stop riding at 5:00pm so I end up riding at night quite often. I'm not really sure why you took the time to post that! :face-icon-small-con Just my thoughts...

From time to time we all find our selves coming out in the dark, it happens. After the S&R's we go out for, year after year, to evac injured or find lost night riders you might have thoughts that match up with mine. I understand we all love to ride, I have just witnessed what can & does happen so quick in the dark.

That one I posted has a push button hold down kill switch, so it can kill two birds with one stone for the guys that worried about breaking of the kill switch

Well I bought a switch for a 2002 pro x 440, same three wires unplugged the factory switch and crimped spades onto the switch so its easily reversed. Moved the perc switch down and put the high/low switch down. Works great.

Come ride the twisty trails on the flatlands at 80 Mph between snow dust and oncoming sleds I'm constantly switching high and low. Different riding I ride quite a bit at night put on close to 4000miles a year. Probably 60% backcountry 40% trail which is why I bought the assault.

Nice set-up.
Would the perc button fit beside the light switch. Is there enough room, it's also nice to hit the rev button without removing your hand off the grip.

It would fit there yeah I moved it because I have hit it while playing before and wanted it moved.
