Anyone tow with a 1/2 ton gmc/chevy with the 6.2L gas engine?

What kind of mileage are you guys getting with the 6.0/6.2L Chevy and GMCs pulling? I have an 07 Yukon XL Denali 6.2L AWD and I will probably pull my 4 place 27' inline out west this year for the first time. I don't know what to expect because I have never pulled out west with this truck.

Add me to the 3/4 ton surburban is better club. I have had 2 3/4 tons and 4 1/2 tons, and the 3/4 handles the tounge weight a lot better and always feels more secure. I will say that the current generation GMT900s with the 6.0/6.2 and the 6 speed are a close second.

The Duramax/allison setup is sweet in a pickup, but $9200 is a lot extra unless you pull all the time. My next truck will be a 3/4 ton surburban with the 6.0L/6spd. It just makes more sense for the other 99% of the time I am not pulling out west. Plus it is a WAY more practical vehicle for a family.

GM trucks & 6.0 l

I have a 24 car hauler loaded for oval raing with 5 sleds, gear, work bench.. I have the equilizer hitch.. for the last 6 years i pulled it with a GMC 2002 crew cab heavy half.. pulled 70 mph great.. drank fuel pulling prettty good.. 7-8 MPG pulling 16 empty 373 gears.... that truck was totaled this summer.. i NOW HAVE A 2004 chevy 2500 hd.. 6.0l crew cab... same 7-8 mph towing 4;10 gears, 3 inch exhaust.... don't know the trailer is behind the truck.. 12-13 empty.. very satisfied with the 6.0l for power.. fuel milage could be better.. but then again a lot less $$ than a duramax.... i tried to buy a duramax but all i could find was hi milage worn out trucks for the same $20,000 i got the 2004 with 48,00 miles for...kurt

vortec max mpgs

We took a buddies 08 sierra crew 6.0 vortec maxx out west last year, pulled a 14' sled bed with 3 sleds and 3 guys, best it could do was 6-8 mpg not very impressive.... haven't driven a 6.2 yet, Strange they don't offer it in the2500? any no 8.1 anymore.....

I have a 2007 Silverado 1500 crew cab LTZ 6.0 Vortec Max with the trailer package rated for 10,000 I believe. It is a wonderful sport truck and pulls open trailers no problem. I get about 14-15 mpg no trailer. 10 with an open trailer and 8 with the 18 foot cargo trailer. On the way back from the snow show this year pulling our enclosed with a death grip on the wheel I thought to myself "thats it I'm getting me a new Duramax 2500 HD". So I got online and built me one up similar to my current ride but in the Diesel HD. It's 60K wtf. I guess I will be sucking down the gas and keeping my white knuckle grip for a few more years.
