Anyone running skinz heat loc handguards?

Just wondering how they work and how they fit on the new pro bars with the goofy end hooks. If you have any pics that would be great.

guards

I have them on my 09. I added a spacer under the head of the hook bolt and ran it through the metal eyelet in the guard. Also a washer on the outside of the guard under the bolt head to keep it on. Eyelet floats between the washer and hook over the spacer. I have more trouble with them staying up than staying on the hook now. The velcro strap is a lttle hard to get to grip right around the throttle block and brake. Great thing about them is they don't bend or break when you hit something and they are warm.

I have them on my pro and they work great. Not sure why anyone buys any other brands as they break all the time.

What I did was put one loop of the velcro through the slot in the bar hook and wrapped it. Doesn't move all day.

That is what I did but I also added a zip tie through the same slot and then through the hole in the end. They would come unstrapped or pull off the occasionally when the sled was on it's side or rolled over so I added the zip tie. Not one problem since. Been running them for about 2 years now.

awesome im going to order them, i thought of putting rsi hooks in too instead of the polaris ones but ill try it threw the hole in the polaris hook first.

i dont know how people dont use them when its colder than -10 cause i hate thick gloves.

I agree. Thick gloves suck. These definitely keep you warmer than the Polaris version of hand guards.

You can't run hand guards or windshields in the mountains if you are a serious rider. They will get in the way, spin and wreck grip wires or just break off.

The skinz Velcro strap on so the is no metal or plastic mounts to break. They also offer more wind protection cause they are closer to the bars. Also positive for them is they Velcro on and are easily removable once your off the trail into the riding area/

The rox flex but still have a bracket and they are ~$100 -$120 more than the skinz. They are further out so less wind protection.

That's why I'm asking about these. They Velcro on for when I'm home or cold days up the trail to the riding area. Then remove them and put them in my bag.
