anyone running a pcv on the axys

If I am to remove my resistor for my slp combo I figured I will go with the pcv to replace that and adjust the fuel/timing. Who is running one and how is it going. I haven't run one prior. Do I need the pod or does the new phone app do the same thing? Who's map are you using? I read a bunch on dynotech and they had great results with a pipe esp with a ssi and pcv. I am not sure if I am going to keep my slp combo based on the dynotech results, losing 5hp sucks. thanks for the input.

I had a pvc but it was a defect one. Sent it back and a new one is on the way. Never got to run it. BUT I have the map that Jim at dynotech made and the bmp pipe. With the map and pvc the bmp made the same as the ssi pipe mod and pvc, just did not want the 3-4 weeks down time with no pipe. With out the pvc the bmp loses some hp and torque in the 7000-8000 ish range, over stock.

I am getting the SSI pipe mod for my Axys Pro. I hope to be able to just run a resistor (if needed). I don't want to have to buy a box too. The Dynotech Research numbers hugely favor the SSI pipe mod over the SLP (horsepower and torque). I think that is what the "losing 5 horsepower" comment was referring to.

SLP is 4.5-5 hp at most I think a bullydog gt tuner is the way to go from my research I have done has so many more features but also has a lot bigger price tag

The 4 grams of weight i had to add to my sled would say its probably more than 4.5-5 hp.

I added 6g down here at sea level. I am happy with the pipe but the dyno results sucked a bit. I am running 1g more in a 11 series profile indy dan weight than my buddy with the ssi pipe mod and can in his 10 series dalton. He is running the stock 40 straight and I have indy dan's helix in the low elevation angle. When we race we are dead even. Only other difference is my 2.6 vs his 2.4. I also weigh 20lbs more. The dyne results with the pcv on the ssi and bmp pipe look impressive. Based on the race and riding results I am happy and won't switch. My other thread goes through some of the problems I am having with codes and possibly the resistor. If I have to take that off and I don't want to be into deto all the time on our big trip coming up. I may just pony up and get one if the resistor is the problem then download a tune from dtr

I decided to get the PCV with the ignition module to run with my ssi pipe mod. The combination produced dyno results in the 168 horsepower and 105 lb. ft. of torque. It is also safer since it adds fuel where you need it.

Have you ridden with the pcv much? I'm curious to hear what you have to say about the pipe mod and pcv. Thanks

See today's post under the ssi pipe mod thread. PCV worked fine as far as I know. Sled ran good with no issues. Snow sucked so no deep snow pulls but lots of power and flawless running.

Anyone want to email the DTR map? I emailed jim, I am a subscriber but it was late Friday when I hit him up and i would like to check the map against my own.

Ran the PCV today with the SLP head as well, ran good but I'm over fueling a little and would love to see what kind of tweaks the DTR map has with the timing tables.

I am running the map switch as well, it's nice to have 2 maps to toggle between while trying to dial it in a little..

I loaded a couple of different maps and added the switch. One map is from BDX-SSI. It is supposed to be able to run in the non-ethanol setting. We will see when I get it out. The other map came from a friend in North Dakota. He developed it himself. It looks like it can also be run in the non-ethanol setting based on the numbers that I saw. It adds quite a bit of fuel in the top RPM ranges. I am hoping to run the sled this weekend to try these maps out. I ran the sled in Stanley a couple of weekends ago and I was able to get 8400 RPM on long pulls in a foot plus of new snow. This was at 8500 feet too. I am running the Carl's helix in the 42 ramp with 66 gram Belly Buster weights. I had one det code come up on the flat at 8400 RPM. I think it was mostly due to the 90 octane non ethanol I bought in Stanley. Bad gas in my opinion.

Waiting on my PCV to show up from DTR with his "fuel only" map. The timing/fuel option he offers didn't appeal to me, as he was saying they get the odd sled that runs into demo problems on long pulls.

Not that I'm a huge chute puller or anything, but figured why run the risk? Can run the pipe on the stock mapping, so the fuel only map ought be just fine for my purposes.

Looking forward to getting it, and the BMP pipe in place! :face-icon-small-hap

I got my pvc fuel and timing, and DTR 91none eth map.. with bmp pipe out for a ride. Very happy , map was spot on. Sled was ripping . ?

Running just the fuel controller from DTR, working well with BMP pipe, just put a hi-alt head on and hope to run this week sometime. One nice feature about the dynojet is you can use it to calibrate your TPS.

That is good news. I put the DTR non ethanol map in my PCV w/ ignition module last week. I am running the SSI pipe mod. I hope that mine also "rips!" Thanks for the report.

I was involved in the pipe shootout at dtr and making Pcv maps .
I can help you guys on some of your questions. I do have an excellent ssi pipe mod for sale(just to many pipes), and we have excellent maps that work nice for most pipes.:face-icon-small-hap

I think this is a no but can you adjust oil pump with PCV?

I ran the DTR map for the non ethanol mode today and I had a detonation code. I am not sure if it is my fuel quality or what. I was kind of disappointed that I had to switch back to the ethanol mode. I really want a map that will allow me to run in the non ethanol mode. I will appreciate any help that I can get to make that possible. I am running the SSI pipe mod. Thanks.
