anyone ride St Helens this weekend?

Great snow

The snow was amazing this weekend...a couple feet of fresh that packed pretty well (helps out when you get stuck:D). The parking area was full but didn't see that many sleds up there. We rode up to the plains but could have played in the flats all day. It was definitely a day where you'd use all your gas and then some and quite possibly blow a belt. The trails were groomed to the washout on Saturday evening but from there out was nasty moguls. No one even attempted Pine Creek and there were very few tracks up above. Should be some good riding...wish I was going:beer;

sno parks

Hey 900 I was thinking of heading down there on Thur. Can you get to the Lone Butte sno park I have never been down there so new to the area thought we try something new. Just wondering if you could help. Thanks

Amen on the diesel! CMRMK, as far as I know, you can get to Lone Butte. They plowed the roads Saturday night. Follow that link Blackout posted, it has somewhat current conditions. You could also call the Mt Adams Ranger District @ (509) 395-3400 to find out for sure.
mt st helens snoparks are still closed. still have to park down at 83/90 junction....

today would have been epic conditions... now if gas/diesel were just a bit cheaper....:mad:

wish i could go... ahhh:eek:

plowing to Marble mountain snopark

Do you think there is any chance they will plow out to the marble moutain snopark soon?

As far as I know, there are no plans to plow it. Still an awful lot of snow in the lot and on the road as you get up higher. There's just not any $ in the Skamania County budget for it...hell they didn't even plow from the county line to Northwoods until Saturday night.

marble moutn sno park

hey thanks for the info. So is that the shortest way to get into the marble mount snopark and then up to the lahar? I've been wanting to take the family (kids) there for a while now.

Went yesterday. One other group was coming in while we were going out. We made the only tracks out on the Plains. Tried to climb the mountain....way too much powder! Very nearly epic conditions! Too bad we had to leave early....brought three extra cans of gas and the sleds started dying up at the Plains around 3 pm....had just enough left in the cans to make it out. Fogged in all the way until halfway up Lahar, and then it got great. I have pics, but don't know how to post them on this new format. Don't have a photobucket account yet either. Guess you will have to use your imagination for now. Just close your eyes and see lots of powder and sunshine....

incredible day today

it was warm up there today,blue skys and epic snow, got a lil heavy towards the end of the day. tons of untouched area and loads of cornice etc.

Belts and gas were in high demand.
