Anyone ridden a late model short track?

I guess I am mainly looking for input from people who 95% of the time ride a mountain sled. This crappy start to the snow season has me remembering the good old days of trail riding on a 97 Yamaha SX700. I can remember hauling *** and having so much fun on that thing on very little snow (trails). By 1999 that sled had grown to a 136 for better off trail perfomance, by 2000 I was on a 151 sled and by 04 was riding a 162 and have never been back. They are basically no fun unless you can get off trail. I am kicking around the idea of getting a shorty for these kind of early season blues. Are they as much fun as I remember?

All sleding is fun to me, but the body doesn't take the abuse as good as it used to! LOL
Those sleds are alot of fun to beat around on but the ride compared to our new ones is crappy.

Yes..

Still just as fun or funner!

Little snow.. u need a short tracker!

Rush is handles on rails! Fast too!

At least you have snow!!! I think a Sno Pro 500 would be tons of fun!!

Great time little 600 light fun and you don't need a ton of snow to have a great time

Picked up a Polaris 600 IQ for my wife last year. It's the first short track I've ridden in about 10 years. What a fun sled! The pounded out trails and windblown ditches that are miserable on a modern mountain sled are an absolute blast to hammer with the 600 shorty. I'm amazed at how far trail sleds have advanced in terms of ride, handling, and stability.

If there isn't enough snow to lube the hifax on a deep lug (and it doesn't take much) I would rather ride the couch.
However, over half of our county is under water, so a studded up short track can get you plenty of seat time.

The funnest thing about riding at home is that the 800 actually feels like an 800!

I have owned 3 XP chassis shorties before mountain sleds and they were great on the trails. Handled incredibly. I rode a rush and didnt care for the handling......this winter has me thinking about getting a shorty again also, or just selling all the sleds and riding the rzr around.

i'm looking at gettin a nice little 146 800 etec summit, short tracks are actually alot of fun, i enjoy my big hp mtn climber but a nice little shorty makes for a great spare and its alot of fun for sled rallies, jumping and beatin around like a red headed step child etc, things i normally dont like doing with my expensive mountain sled.
