Anyone put M-series A-arms on a HCR?

I'm working on a pretty decent deal trading for a new 09 HCR.
Its Only $300 more than if I'd go with an M8 (standard). For my riding style the wider front of the HCR worries me (we ride in a lot of tight trees). From what I've looked at M-series A-arms will bolt right up, only thing I'd have to do is put spacers in the shocks to shorten them up to specs of the M-series.
Anyone do this??

we did this to my buddys hcr took the a arms and tie rods off of a m5. bolted right on no problem the shocks are the same legnth as standerd so all you need is the upper and lower a arms and tie rods there is alot of people that want the front end so look at doing the trading just dont trade the shocks springs then u have one tight boondocking hillclimbing sled.

I'm confused, I thought the front shocks were 19" like an xfire?

The 43" suspension with the 17.5 shocks sits like a dead dog, I don't see how that would work.

If they're 19", the holz front end is a great option, you get a touch more suspension & it's only 1" wider than stock M series arms.

Narrow hcr

I did mine. M-Series A-arms with M-Series tie rods. The HCR shocks are longer, I don't remember the exact number but the 2 inchs mentioned earlier sounds about right. The springs however are the same length so I was able to keep the TI springs. I found someone with a new M6 that wanted it wider for his wife - traded parts and we were both happy.
