Anyone Pull a hamstring while sledding?

I have pulled my right hamstring twice back in the day running track and playing baseball. I never pulled the left until two weeks ago. Have to blame Rasmussen and Burandt on this one. I was doing the down hill turn where you stick your leg out and as a pivot. I did one before in the day, worked slick. I went to do it again with my left leg, as soon as I extended my leg it was like the whole muscle let loose. I still completed the turn thankfully as that would have been a bad spot to get unstuck. Glad I was on a sled because I could not walk for close to an hour. Getting back home and I realize that the back of my leg is black and blue with a yellow tinge. I tore something enough for it to bleed internally, sucks to get old. 3 weeks later and I am almost over the pain.

Right there with you.a month ago I was riding on our road by our house just hard snow pack was drifting around a curve and the track caught and I flew of and popped my hip out of the socket. Talk about pain holy sh## a couple chiropractor visits now I feel good.it sucks being 40 something.

I know how ya feel. I pulled it in my right leg about 8 years ago. Hooked my heel in the runnning board as I went off the sled. Thought it was broken at first. I was black/blue/green and purple from my a** to my ankle. It was a long painful 30 km ride back to the truck. 8 years latter, there are days when I can still feel it.

Yup my bro pulled his hamstring really bad last year. Whole leg turned black. Deep powder day way back in, painful ride out. We had to pour 2000 square feet of concrete the next day...ouch.

Baddodges, it sux being in your 40s, wait until the 50s. Pretty much every ride ends with Ibuprofen (arthritis in my knees) and an evening on the couch, but it is all worth it. If we have good snow like last weekend when I am riding both days of the weekend, Mondays are a killer. I am sure the boss would love to see me sell my sled and take up something a little easier on the knees.:face-icon-small-win

Take the ibuprofen in the morning before you ride. Makes a huge differance in how you feel at the end of the day. Sorta works like a preventative rather than fixing it after the fact.
I started sledding in my mid 30's, now early 50's, Still hang in there with the young guys but pay a price for it.

Hamstring no

No hamstring in my history, but I Ruptured my Achilles! It's not fun either, can't would't recommend to anyone.

Dam, right stretching is part of my routine now. I'll do that before painkillers.
