anyone on here a dealer for road armor bumpers?

I can get awesome deals at Dave Smith Motors. What kind of truck are you putting it on?

Why can't you just go to the "find a dealer" tab on their website? On their website, they have a thing saying "monthly special, 20% off all products" for a $2k bumper, that would be a savings of $400. If it doesn't matter who you get it from, $400 off is a good deal.

Also, are you looking for a road armor bumper, or one that is like the road armor bumpers? I know of several other companies that make great quality bumpers for less money.

yes, i like alien patrol as well, but they arent any cheaper because you have to have them powder coated-?

I love my TDK bumper.

It was a few hundred less then road armors basic bumper only model - and is built just as good. Only drawback is that it doesn't have a winch mount. They are made in Moore, MT so it is fairly close to where many of us live. I had mine delivered by the guy who makes them for free, already powdercoated (his parents live in the black hills). Great customer service.

Alien Patrol is almost an identical replica to road armor. The guy who makes them used to work for road armor (or co-own it). My roomate has one on his GMC - he got a great deal on it because it was one of the first one going on a GMC and they wanted some photos. He ordered his two weeks before I ordered my TDK. I had mine on months before he got his. When he did get his, it didn't fit right and instead of sending it off and waiting he took matters into his own hands and made it wide enough to fit. This was last year so things might be getting better for AP now. The make a great bumper, it just seemed like too much of a wait for it.

Here is a list of some other companies websites:

When buying a bumper, consider whether or not it is powdercoated from the factor - some will not coat it if it has to be shippid.

just a month ago road armor sent me a flyer that had the base bumpers with no finish for 600 dollars. I paid 1000 for both mine plus shipping. call and talk to mike and he will probably give you a deal.

Are you putting it on your truck for show or use? I only ask because some of them don't protect your grill, lights and hood. Some of the ones that look like they do will just fall apart in an impact. Not saying your going to do that but make sure you're getting one built right.

I bought an ARB from Custom Truck in Coeur 'd alene, I really like it. I put it on for the main reason to protect from deer. Not more then a month after I got it I clipped a deer doing 50 mph. The deer was running pretty good and I took it straight on, didn't even scratch the bumper and it flew past and around the truck. I was surprised the air bag didn't go off. The bumper paid for itself that one time... I'm sure it would have taken the factory bumper, grill, lights, hood and possibly fenders. Not to mention whats behind the grill... inter cooler, radiator...ect.

Im also looking for one myself for my Dmax. It would be for deer protection more than anything else as we got a ton of them here. Anyway, I like the big name bumpers out there but they look good with jacked up pickups, not stock height pickups. So these are out for me. I was looking at Ali Arc bumpers. They look pretty good for a stock height truck. Have a local vendor that sells them. Anybody have any experiences with the Ali Arc? I'm gonna have to check out the ARB that Extreme One has mentioned as they do look pretty good for my stock height pickup.

These things look cool as all hell,
but I wouldn't expect one to hold up to a deer smack.
It may minimize the damage to the vehicle to a certain extent, but don't buy one thinking the deer will simply bounce off & you can go on your merry way.

Which one are you talking about?

Really, any of them.

But I may be wrong. (I am at least once per day, and I haven't met my quota yet!)

Mafesto,

I have yet to hit one with mine since I have put it on so I don't have any first hand experience. However, my dad has hit deer with his bumper/grill guard combo and he says you don't even feel it. He just has to tighten the bolts the next day and wipe the blood and other fluids off his hood and windshield.

Mine is one of the "lighter" ones out there and it still weighs close to 200 llbs. It is made out of 3/16" plate steel and bolts into the framerail as well as where the factory bumper installs. I might be a sick individual, but I look forward to my first deer explosion :). I understand these bumper wont hold up to a 60 mph impact with a bull elk, horse, cow, etc. but the chances are in my favor that I will at least be able to drive away.
