Anyone installed their Concept front end yet

Guys, all the 2008 models and the 2009 MTX model use the smaller upper a-arm sleave, you will need the larger sleave to install your Concept front suspension!

Any issues with ski alignment since the curved tie rods require being turned a complete revolution each time? This is due to the curve and needing to position them for proper clearance.

You can still do a 1/2 turn adjustment, simply remove the outer tie rod bolt and move just that heim joint a 1/2 of a turn instead of turning the whole steering rod.

I think the new cross shafts for the upper arms cost me about fifty bucks. The 08 is the only one that had the smaller cross shafts in them is what OFT told me. You are right about that Justin. We will see when the snow gets deep enough to ride if it was all worth it.

I thought it would be worth mentioning that after a little research you have to replace the cross shafts on the zbroz kit as well.

I think that it is worth it anyway. The smaller cross shafts really are very small and small tube thickness. The new ones are aluminum versus steel shafts but still seem to be way more stout. Hopefully these kits will just start including this kind of stuff so that it is not a hassle of rounding it up.

What day are you going to the snow show Justin? I will be there Friday, let's hook up if you are also.

shocks?

Curious about the shocks do the bushings have to be modified. I see people are using anything from regular floats to float 2s. Can some one fill me in. Thanx guys

As far as compatibility goes, if your shocks (doesn't matter what type of shock)have a the small aluminum shaft that goes through a rubber "bearing" then you have 2 options. --To determine this look at where the bolt goes through your shock to mount it to your sled.

Option 1:
Modify your existing shocks to accept a spherical bearing. You will need a spherical bearing and a machine shop capable of doing this to make it work. OFTracing.com has been offering this service.

Option 2:
Upgrade your shocks to aftermarket shocks that already have the spherical bearings. This would be the best option but naturally it's also the most expensive.

Why do I need spherical bearings?
The kit moves the spindles 4" forward without changing the angle in which the shock mounts are attached to the subframe. So, in order to still allow the shock to bolt into the mount and to the A-Arms they have to be "pivoted" on the shock mount. The stock rubber bearing is limited to perpendicular mounting of the shock. The kit needs shocks that can mount at an angle.
Maybe this helps explain it:

[---] <-Shock Mount on subframe
_|_ <-Angle the shock mounts with stock front suspension

[---] <-Shock Mount on subframe---remains constant
_/_ <-Angle the Shock needs to mount now because we moved the bottom mount forward
The spherical bearings make this possible.

Just installed mine, no issues.
Stood on the sled, what a difference with the skis ahead the 4.5in. kind of reminds me of my old 09 M1000 (how far out the ski tips are now)
Good thing I have a long box truck with a Marathon deck - it's going stick off the back another 4.5". With a 174" track going to have some good overhang:face-icon-small-con

Thanks for clearing that up. I remember reading somthing about that but don't remember where is was it was probably on the skins website.

The good news is you won't have to worry about getting rear ended! The track will stick so far into their windshield it will kill the person before they even get close to reaching your truck! haha :face-icon-small-coo
