I've been looking at the "XM upgrade" type package for the XP sleds from SkiDoo.

Does anyone on here have any direct experience installing this on their own sled or for customers of their shop?

If so, have you ridden it yet?
Have you compared side by side with other stock XP's?

All kinds of answers to your question on Doo Talk

I would really like to see a good comparison of the original XP spindle and ski offset (front to back bias), the SLP spindle , and the new XM spindle. I remember last spring someone did an overlay that showed the Pro,XM, and proclimb. It primarily showed the angles of the spindles and the rider position. I believe that the spindle and ski bias is a major key to get that modern, so easy its cheatin, handling that we all want. Slp says that there spindle is still an upgrade to the XM but it costs alot more than the ds2 kit when you consider the skiis come with the skidoo kit.

I may have to just bite the bullet and buy the upgrade. I'm in the process of narrowing the front end of my 2010. Was a 1200 gade but its all summit now, except for the wide ski stance. So I ordered the narrow a-arms, might as well do the XM spindle / ski update too....Right? lol

just order today no one was posting kept looking to see but needed ski's so did this hope it works as well as they say I'll keep you guys posted on what i think hope this helps i'll be the test dummy again:face-icon-small-dis haha

yah me to i've got the slp spindles on my 860 with 2012 xp skis so will be neat to see how they compare

So how much better were the slp spindles than the xp stock? SlP does not mkarket this product well. All they will say is that it is an improvement to an xp or an xm. No explanation of why or how. where is the best deal on slp products if a guy wants to try these? Please keep us posted!

I just put the DS2 ski and ski leg kit on my 2011 , super easy the dead blow hammer is the key. I Only have 35 miles on the new skis in "Cascade Concrete" but so far I like them the ski is nice doesn't dart nearly as bad as the ds. The spindles side by side are very hard to see any difference at all I am assured by the dealer and doo talk that there is a 4 degree difference to the rake and the ski is thus farther back. Not sure yet as I have not found any true riding yet just early season stuff.....but they are black and look cool.

I hope the DS2's are better then the DS's. The DS's had a habit of submarining in the snow. I ended up pulling the DS's off of my 12 163 X and put on a new set of the 6.9's. It sure helped the handling of my sled. I will take a wait and see attitude on the DS2's. Would like to here some comments after the snow gets powdery and deep.

well i just got my'n and i cant see anything different from the 12 ski's:face-icon-small-sad and spindle looks the same might mic them to see if there is anything different from old spindles, set the 13 ski's next to the 08 ski's and they mount in the same spot on both ski's thought the 13 moved the mounting location back a little bit i'll tell you more after i ride with them but maybe save your money boys for better mods then this at least at this point i will try and get some pics up after work

Spindles

How did you get the ball joints out?

The center keel of the ski is deeper. The spindle mount point for the ski is 10MM different, not much but significant.

Got them installed on my 11 but i haven't ridden it yet... Would like to hear some more info on if there is a difference.
