Anyone in Western WA exchange ABS Cannisters

I90 motorsports did it for my BCA for free, after them doing it I'm kind of skeptical because they did it in about 3 minutes when according to BCA it should take about 20 minutes because they need to submerge the canister in water to keep the temperature down. Now my cylinder is a touch below 2500 PSI and I'm probably going to send it back to BCA to have them do it.

i 90 cant do abs. tried last year.

http://www.backdropsports.com/ .. back drop for sure.

Yes we can do ABS, BCA, and Snowpulse in order to refill a canister for BCA is quite simple. They do heat up a little and as they cool the preasure does drop a tiny bit but we can easily top it off for you. Airpoppoff I am sorry if you are a touch under on air, it is compressed air so it does vary a little up and down, we will be glad to help you out. We will let pop off your bag and will also show you the process of how it is done if you would like. We were trained by BCA and I assure you we have done them plenty of times. We do like to let them sit after refills to dissipate heat so it should take longer then 3 minutes so we reccommend that you do a little shopping while you hang out.
thank you,

thank you,

Last year.ABS. When i called and brought it in you looked at it and told me you couldn't do it nor did you have a trigger handle. Do you have exchange cannisters and trigger handles? Have things changed?

thank you,

Thank you, Since I'm from Yakima I'm probably going to buy a spare cylinder so I'll bring it in next time I'm by there.

Snowbi--- Dont you have to have an adapter for a scuba place to do it for you?

On another note some people have said fire stations will do it, I've contacted a couple locally in my area and due to their audit regulations they would not do it.

I get mine filled at Underwater Sports! They have the adapter for the canisters.

As of this year we now do ABS as well (things do change). ABS is done by exchange comes out to $120 or replace them for $149.99 We have the replacements in stock. BCA and snowpulse are just air refills takes about 20 minutes. We are always trying to carry all of the safety equipment we can.
If we don't have it we will try and get it for you.

Guys just to clarify from someone that has had an ABS pack for several years and dealt with the canisters:

Empty cartridges can only be refilled by ABS. Exchanges for a full cartridge can only be made with an ABS dealer. The ABS canisters can not be refilled at common dive shops or other stores like the BCA canisters. There is a pressurized capsule in the activation handle that can only be released once. This is why both the activation handle and cartridge must be returned and replaced by a dealer.

Most dealers will exchange the canister (yellow one) and handle for ~$40. The problem is the hazmat shipping is an additional $35. So the best scenario is an exchange with a local dealer to avoid the hazmat fee. You can buy a new canister but it will be over $100.

The ABS headquarters for North America is also just over the Border in Langley, BC. I was able to exchange mine last year on the way to Revy and avoid paying any shipping fees. So if your headed north that is a great option. Below are the listed dealers for WA not sure who stocks exchanges though.

Renton is a dealer but they don't doo exchanges. Talked to them Fri.
The handle has a 22 caliber charge in it which pierces the canister. Don't forget to install canister before the handle.

What am I missing here? You exchanged for $40 but I 90 wants $120 am I reading this wrong? I would gladly go to Backdrop sports here in Everett, but would rather support motorsports (I 90) but $80 bucks is $80 bucks.

I'm missing it two. ABS is nitrogen charged and they are smart enough to be OEM only. I would like to buy an extra trigger and cylinder with out shipping. Does I 90 sell the whole deal? Everyone else is air and I'll take nitrogen thankyou!:face-icon-small-sho
