Dave Says I need the new map before I can ride and my software won't be here for several days.

Does anyone in Iowa (preferrably in central Iowa) have Rb3 software I can borrow until mine comes. More snow on the way and can't ride

Thanks,

Kirk

Thanks, would probably work, but I don't have the cables to hook it up to the rb3 box either,

I have tried the Rapid Bike box, and my advice is to go buy a Pure Logic Box and get a new harness for your fuel injection, because you are going to need it. It does not sound like Dave has his programming ready to go, and you could miss many days of riding this year waiting in hopes he might get it bang on. If the new program is not right, then what? I can change my mapping on the hill in less than a minute with the PL box.

you can do the same with the rb3 box. 70 dollars for the pro lite software. Or if you want you can get the bluebike and change it with your smart phone.

I'd wouldnt think of spending your money on pure logic junk!!
I bought the rb3 and the blue bike and a vx6800 verizon smart phone, runs like a dream, unbelievable throttle responce compared to the pure logic box. The rb3 has the ability to clean up the 4800rpm gurgle and clean up the bottum end and the ability to add timing to help burn the race fuel at lower rpms. Get a smart phone, and the blue bike kit, its simple!!! Its much easier to fine tune than the pure logic. You cant adjust the point changes between the three circuits or add timing or fix dam thing with pure logic. There is no reference point to go into the pure logic box to fix a rich spot or a lean spot anywhere in that mapping, its VERY Generic!!

The truth is, no one is going to build a perfect map for others sleds, the best someone is going to get is a good baseline map to work from. Too many factors to account for, compression, intercooling, turbo, injector size, timing, engine work etc, etc. Some ownership must be taken to make your RB3 successful, software and a device to make adjustments are a must. I agree it is nice to be able to push a couple of buttons and not have to mess with a bunch of computer programs. Once it's dialed in, it doesn't need to be re-adjusted. I have two maps in my sled, one to run pump fuel, and one to run race fuel at high boost. I was lucky to have my fuel set on the dyno by Mitch so there was very little "on the hill" adjustment needed.

The RB3 is a huge step forward from the PL boxes but there is already better technology being tested. Hopefully the stand alone systems turn out to be successful without breaking the pocketbook. :beer;:beer;

Yes the RB3 is a big step up from the PL box as AA says , ran one last year on my Alpine apex , if you go with the PL box better get acouple spares .
Hoping the this stand alone works as it should , going to dyno on Saturday .
O , AA could i get a loan , haha

I guess I was harsh, saying it was junk, its not junk, its just old technoligy. if you want a old school box, try out fastrax/fantom new box. it has some switch point adjustability.

My point was that the "average Joe" is not going to go out and want to buy all the needed software/hardware that it takes to make adjustments on the hill, let alone take the time to learn the programming.
The other point is people are being blindsided in to thinking that they just buy there powderlites kit, bolt er on and ride off in to the sunset. Time will tell the truth...it always does.
I don't want to be the guy playing on the hill with my PDA trying to get my sled to run when all my buddies are busting pow and ripping it up...I would rather take the 5 minutes to replace my PL box.;)

All us Rapid bike guys can E-mail our programs over the net as well so say a buddie has a program that runs just a tad better he can send it over to a guy and others can use his map ect ect.

i looked into the RB3 last year after hearing about it. rode a few sleds with it and they ran alright . i was just turned off by the point that no one had a map for over 14 pounds of boost, has this changed? i get pizzed off enough when i have to change my atudide box settings on the hill , i would never be seen in public with a I phone or blackberry tuning my sled lol

unless you are running larger injectors you will be out of fuel by the time you get past 14 lbs anyway. Maps can be made for 3 bar but you would need to run some bigger injectors for sure.

I just ordered the bluebike software from Dave for easy tweaking on the hill. Hopefully it works like advertised.
