Anyone have porting done to this motor yet?

talk to Kurt at Fastrax motorsports..I am sure they have been playin with them...I know there is a lot left for power in the CFI's...might also call chris at Carl's Cycle..am sure Jack has been tinkering as well...

Carls Cycle Sales has some awesome porting for these things, very impressed with how much it woke this sled up (add the SLP single for even bigger gains)

I talked to doug ruth last week and he has been doing them. He also said they dynoed the motor he did at dyno port and he was told 170hp on the cfi 800

Anyone have prices, ride reports, reliability, specs, and if it will require high dollar fuel?

These are all HUGE aspects I consider in any motor mod. Nothing worse than getting towed out, trust me I had an 08 Dragon

Hey Mike, what else was done to this motor? Pipes etc?
I have had Doug do some porting for me before and really loved it.
Will this void my warranty? Just joking.....

from what I remember I think it had a single pipe on it. I will probably talk to him in the next week or so. I will try to get all the info for you guys.

You don't need higher octane fuel for porting. You run into needing fuel when you have twins or cut the head and raise the compression etc. Reliability will not change, you will gain performance. If you get a bad port job by an inexperienced person, your sled will or any motor for that matter will run like garbage. This is why I don't do it myself. There are all sorts of porting programs now and people to do the job. Jack's shop is one of the best around. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a ported motor. It does take time. Quick example, Jack's shop spends 10 hours on one 910 jugg. If you are going to have your motor ported, send it in this spring because they get busy.

Doug Ruth, world class porting.
