I'm done renting crappy POS's (at $50 a pop) and I hate the noise! I only use one 1-2 times a year to clean off my deck, patio and drive. Do they work ok??

I have one. 1500PSI. Bought it at Home Depot. It is yellow and black(cant think of the brand). It does a fine job for everything I have needed it for, from stripping the fence of stain, to washing the underside of my mower.

I got lucky..guy walked into my shop a few years back..wanted to sell a hotsy...bought it unseen for 1000.00 ..turns out he bought it to wash his house..couldnt get the heat to work so he thought it was messed up(helps if ya put deisel in the tank)..nice one too..stainless tank adjustable spray trigger..total price new with the updated pump was 4600.00...still have it..still looks new...

Man! Some guys have all the luck! I will give you 1200$ CASH- RIGHT NOW for it!!:D

funny marcuso..bought everyone has said that over the years....I have to admit..I got dang lucky buying it sight unseen...what a deal...

To make an electric one last, turn the power switch off while still spraying water with the trigger pulled.
They have a pressure over-ride switch in them that turns off the motor when you release the trigger while spraying.
That switch goes to heck and the motor will not fire up again.
I have 4 with the over-ride switch shot. My most recent one is a little suit case style and it has lasted 2 years so far by not letting the over-ride kick in and out

Anyway...back to your question!

Yes, I had one for about 6 years and used it just for washing the green off the house under the trees, the Motor home, cars, engines and transmissions prior to rebuild, decks, ETC...

It worked fine until my youngest left it out in the rain and I didn't know it.

I replaced it with a Honda powered Toro at @ 3200psi.
THAT thing will remove your shoes for you if you're not careful!:D

which one do you think would be best for blasting logs ???? was thinking about sandblasting our logs but was also thinking about high pressure water ??

There was a nice one at Costco last time I was there. 2600 psi, Honda motor so they last forever and are fairly quiet as long as you replace that cheap *** muffler when it rusts out. It was only $329.00

I just bought the 2600 psi Honda eng Costco one. Wanted the 3ksi but they were out.
I works pretty well. Blasted the decks after applying the deck cleaner cr@p and it took all the black stuff off and etched some of the softer boards pretty deep.
Not as good as sandblasting, when I retored an old barn into a sales center though. If you're really looking to expose the grain of the wood, unless it's a bad *** pressure washer, I think sandblasting is the better bet.
The Costco washer actually does good enough that it get's my black truck completely clean (no dirt film left on the paint) if I spray the truck down with some soap presoak first. Even get's the caked on mag chloride off.
Any light colored vehicles, it gets clean as a whistle, no soap.
And it does work better with the turbo nozzle than a 15 or 25deg head.
It peeled the decals off my company truck and lifted the clear bra stuff on my personal rig when I hit it at the wrong angle.
Sorry can't say anything about the elect models, other than the 2600psi is adequate, wouldn't go much lower psi than that.
