Anyone have a recommendation for a spring tool?

Thee single best trick i learned from another tech when in mechanic school!

Give it a try and see what ya think! Gotta get creative sometimes with position, but youll figure it out.

Thanks everyone:yo:
Anyone with a 2013 800, let us/me know how you fared removing your exhaust pipe/Y-pipe springs when you apply Permatex to the joint. If your like me and you hate oil being some where it's not supposed to be you will be doing this.:face-icon-small-dis
I don't have a good picture right now but it's the spring at 4 o'clock to the right of the top center spring is the bugger. The curvature of the exhaust pipe impedes removing/installing the spring.

I don't want to brag but..... this is a looker. :photo:
Notice the home made track dolly? No stress on the paddles.

You can use a second rope also sometimes. One to pull tension, and a second to pull it into a different angle or position

I make one with a double loop of stainless wire then make a smaller 1/2" loop in the ends. It ends up about 6" long and easily fits in the tool pouch and lasts for years.

You put a screw driver through the end loops to make it a t-handle or use your boot lace idea for tough to get at places.

tool

Drop buy Cal Ranch and get a replacement spring for a spring tooth harrow. Cut it in two with a die grinder and heat the end with a tourch and bend a hook on it. Yields 2 tools. Because it is spring steel it is a little flexable but really rough. Learned that one using old worn out harrow springs.

I have the Ski Doo spring tool. Cheap and works awesome. Best part is that is has the notch in the end so you can push springs too. I have a package of small magnets and can just stick one to the side of the tool for that. But it won't work on a Pro...
