I ordered some Bike Master heated grips yesterday and a fuse tap today. I was thinking about how NOT fun it is going to be swapping grips every winter and spring and realized that the solution is to just get a spare set of handlebars.
I've gotten used to the bend of my stock OEM Beta bars and while doing a search for them, came across a site that had pro-takeoffs for $29.95 plus $5 for shipping so I ordered 3 bars. Nice! Brand new bars, that I like, for $30 per bar, where can one find a deal like that?
I can now leave the clutch grips on, and just swap the bars from snow to dirt and not worry about damaging the grip, especially the more expensive 12V grip. I also happen to have a G2 quick turn throttle (cam) as well as the aluminum throttle tube and have a spare tube. Now I look forward to getting home and seeing if the quick turn cam will fit on the spare aluminum G2 throttle tube I have so I won't have to strip the grip off of anything, just swap the throttle tube and cam and go. If it doesn't fit, I just buy the aluminim throttle tube.
Anyone else keep a dirt and snow handlebar and leave the grips on?
