Anyone have 2 sets of handlebars, one for dirt, one for snow?

I ordered some Bike Master heated grips yesterday and a fuse tap today. I was thinking about how NOT fun it is going to be swapping grips every winter and spring and realized that the solution is to just get a spare set of handlebars.

I've gotten used to the bend of my stock OEM Beta bars and while doing a search for them, came across a site that had pro-takeoffs for $29.95 plus $5 for shipping so I ordered 3 bars. Nice! Brand new bars, that I like, for $30 per bar, where can one find a deal like that?

I can now leave the clutch grips on, and just swap the bars from snow to dirt and not worry about damaging the grip, especially the more expensive 12V grip. I also happen to have a G2 quick turn throttle (cam) as well as the aluminum throttle tube and have a spare tube. Now I look forward to getting home and seeing if the quick turn cam will fit on the spare aluminum G2 throttle tube I have so I won't have to strip the grip off of anything, just swap the throttle tube and cam and go. If it doesn't fit, I just buy the aluminim throttle tube.

Anyone else keep a dirt and snow handlebar and leave the grips on?

Yep, I just did the same thing.

Didn't have the heart to cut my perfectly good factory KTM grips off my stock bars to install heated grips.

So....I found another factory KTM bar on eBay that someone removed when they bought their bike new.

I'm installing my Oxford Adventure style heated grips on the new bars, along with another factory throttle tube.

That way if I decide the grips are too thick for summer use, I can just switch back to my summer bars and throttle tube.

Having an extra set of bars is good way to go. A few years ago on my old WR, I installed some Bikemaster heated grips that worked great for heat in the winter, but they weren't so great for riding trails in the summer. My original plan had been to pull them for summer, but that plan went out the window when it took a 2-lb rubber mallet to drive the clutch side grip onto the bar. That sucker wasn't coming off without being destroyed.

I have a G2 Quick Twist throttle cam, G2 aluminum throttle tube and a Jimmy Twister-ball bearing deal in the tube. I am glad I had a spare G2 aluminum throttle tube so that now I can simply swap out the throttle tube from one bar to the other.

I just have to get fork covers and a filter skin and I think I'll have everything I need but a new helmet.

Yeah, I started with 2 sets a bars (Dirt/Snow) as I wanted to have a nice clean system for swapping the bikes for the seasons. Now I have Raze heated bars coming for both bikes.

I stripped and took the bar off tonight, just waiting for the three (two are for spares) bars to arrive as well as the Jimmy Twister and the set of BikeMaster heated grips and fuse tap to complete my install.
