Anyone Happy with their Mirage/Image Sled trailer??

this is one reason i was lookin into a wells cargo or haulmark

:rolleyes:Ha Ha that's funny I had a Haulmark before I put thousands and thousands of miles on it and no issues other than some of the screws holding the tin on the outside had their heads pop off which my dealer gladly fixed just about 3 years later!! and my one hinge broke on the ramp door and I fixed it with a mig welder in 10 minutes. that trailer pulled really well and I was all excited to get all the bells and whistles in this one I wish I had my old trailer back!!!

Bought an 08 extreme fully loaded
From day one the heater never worked. Dealer couldn't even make it work on delivery but I had to take the trailer as we were leaving for Tog. Dealer replaced the bottle and it still never worked. Doesn't even turn on now.
Front axle wasn't welded all the way. Bro in Law fixed it. Lucky I caught it trying to figure out why the gas pump was so SLOW.
Gas pump door completely fell off out on the road
Snow, water and dust come in through many holes in the floor around the wheels wells
Many screws have worked themselves out and have had to be retightened. Many were in crooked and NOT even connected into ANYTHING
Cabinet latches are so worthless I quit using them all together
Fuel guage never worked
FUEL Tank leaked at least $200 in race fuel until I learned that if the trailer is ever parked with the back end up hill it will leak every time!! Luckily this helped me see how poorly the welds were on the axles ;-)

I called and factory after seeing a post last year and left two messages. No reply. My dealer quit carrying them because they were junk.

I paid 12k for my trailer which would have been over 20 in a decent brand with all the options included. I think I have learned you get what you pay for. I am going to scrap the heap because I don't want to sell it to someone else and have them deal with a lemon

All in all the single worst product I have ever bought. My friends literally ask me what happened this time when we meet up each ride.

Wow yours must have come off the line the same time as mine Your propane bottle never fell off yet?? be sure to check the welds on your 2 bolts that hold it up or shoot holes in that tank to ignite it when you take it to salvage I laugh at the suggestion to take it back to them and force them to fix it but I am almost tempted to take the trip down to do it and make them fix it as it may be the only way they will take me seriously.

Sorry to hear about all of the problems you are having. I bought an 07 26' extreme and have had only one issue which was major (the axle broke!). Mirage stood behind it and replaced the axle, labor (had it done at Big O tire in Boise). I guess I am one of the lucky ones. It has been a good trailer other than the axle and the flooring in the newer models is great. If I was to buy another trailer I would be looking at Interstate as I have a friend who has had one for 8 years and it is still running down the road with no issues. Hope you can get your issues with Mirage worked out. If not I would get rid of the trailer and go to something else. Nothing worse than worrying about whether you are going to make it to the powder everytime you go.

I was told by one of their biggest dealers in Canada that they got shafted by Mirage for over $40,000 in warranty approved axle replacement bills that they just said that they weren't going to pay the claims and left the dealer high and dry!! Looks to me like they don't want any buisness in Canada if you can just roll in and get yours fixed just as easy as pie!!

I am writing this wonderring if anyone is having any luck with their Mirage Snowmobile trailer? I bought mine a year and a half ago and have had nothing but problems with it since day one. Here's my list of problems so far in no particular order 1. My brakes fell apart on the way home from the plant in Boise, Id I'm still waiting for them to help out in any way at all there!! 2. My fender is falling off the outside of the trailer and they tell me it is too expensive to fix it properly -- they mounted it incorrectly putting the mounting screws into thin air and they told me to just add more, because I'd love to have a bunch of extra screws and empty holes all over my fender where they mounted it incorrectly. 3. The factory installed propane tank for my furnace under the side of my trailer fell off onto the highway and drug by the hose until I saw it, apparently it's too expensive to ship me a new tank or pay to have it mounted better, I guess one bolt per end spot welded to the frame is plenty to hold a 50lb steel bottle from falling off. after about 5000 km. 4. I have a loaded High Mark Package and it comes with a really handy work bench and sitting bench that are falling apart because they turn out to be very flimsy as well. 5. My axle was made incorrectly the rubber was installed to far in on the torsion axle thus creating an allignment issue shredding my one rear tire also not covered because neither Mirage or GDC axle make any mistakes when producing these. 6.My wheel seals are leaking terribly causing the brake shoes to get oil soaked and rendered useless 7. The factory supplied Fuel pump barely works at all and apparently their new trailers have better pumps but they won't give you the upgrade at all.
:mad::confused::mad::confused::mad::confused::mad:

Just some crap mine has given me so far I am curious if anyone else has had similar problems with theirs??

Clinton, We are sorry to hear you are having issues with you Trailer. We have been contacted by you dealer and have addressed each of your "Warranty" issues with him and material has been sent.

was wonderring where are you from? are you Canadian or American I think they don't care at all if you are from north of the border!!

Mirage owners are Canadian and Care very much about our Northern neighbors.

This will be my fourth season for my Xtreme snow and no real problems. The only real complaint is the fact that the walls are not sealed and you get as much dust inside as outside when hauling the quads. Winter time is no problem and find it to be a great pulling trailer. Love the features of the floor and wide front door. Overall i have been very happy with mine. Sounds like Mirage still hasn't got their quality checks in place yet after all these years. Sorry to hear about all the problems, good luck to everyone.

Sammy, Mirage always appreciates feedback and is working very hard to produce a quality product, also for the model year 2009-2010 dust-proof walls are standard on snows and sports.

I wouldn't piss on my Mirage trailer to put it out if it was on fire.

I've had nothing but problems and QC issues with mine, this is only the 3rd season I've owned it too.

Dogmeat, this will be our third attempt to address your issues. Mirage has asked you numerous times to contact us, we would like to make you a satisifed customer. Please call Curtis (208-461-7776)

Care to share with us why so many folks are having serious issues with your trailers and getting warranty work done? I had been in search for an enclosed trailer for the last 6 months or more and seriously considered buying a Mirage but issues like these bothered me. I really like your trailers and your prices seemed better than most but, living in Ak we are too far away for warranty work.

Yes have had issues with trailers as well first one the axles were welded out of line so it tracked down road like it was in a 80kt wind, didn't notice when picked up because it was blowing that hard... got it replaced after law suit filed now have another one that is less than perfect as well. going to get a Charmack this time.

John, Your issue was with the dealer (correct) As soon as Mirage found out about your problems we built you a new unit. Please contact us if you are having issues with your new one. We cannot correct what we don't know about.

Please realize that there are many posts by the same few people on this thread. As with any wholesale trailer mfg, dealers play an important role between the end user and the manufacture. I assure you that Mirage does care about it's customers.

Mirage also has dealers in AK. that are capable of warranty work if needed.

Good luck with finding a new Charmac, I believe they closed their doors either this year or last year.

Mr. Vick, SWS (dealer) was dropped by Mirage due to their questionable bussiness practices and had nothing to do with warranty issues.

Just so you know, this isn't the only place where I have heard negative things about Mirage trailers so I wasn't basing my post on this thread. I still think your trailers are pretty nice and well priced but shipping to Alaska is stupid high.

I am glad to hear I finally have your attention, allbeit unfortunate that it has to come to this!! I have been waiting since I brought the unit home for some of these problems to be fixed with no avail it was either the pictures were unclear or it's too expensive to get the parts out to you or my favorite that it's abuse and not faulty. I really like my trailer I just wish that if there is a problem I wouldn't be ignored to this point. I have worked for a long time in the automotive industry as a dealer and know where things should be covered or where a customer is just being a whiny pain in the ***!! There are real glaring problems with my trailer, and over and over again I was ignored. So now finally I get a response for this after I have to go public about my issues. I have waited over a year and a half for some kind of noticable help. All I have recieved before this was some replacement decals that were falling off and a big bag of screws. I was promised a new tire after my brake backing plate fell apart, nothing showed it's too expensive to ship my fender that has been falling off since the montana border on the way home. It was deemed unclear what was wrong in the photographs that I sent on several occasions from many angles. My propane tank falling off, I was told it was not going to be replaced because you can't ship a propane tank into Canada. and while I was under the trailer taking pictures of the missing bolt that holds up my propane tank I found my axle to be out of alignment. I had the repair shop that fixed it try to get parts from your dealer in Westlock, ab they forwarded him to an axle and spring shop in Edmonton, which told him that GDC had put the torsion rubber in incorrectly and pushed it in too far causing my tire to be go out of alignment so knowing how long everything else I have tried to get fixed takes I ordered a new axle. as until now I would like to use it not sit forever waiting for someone to pass judgement on whether they might help me or not. I am very pleased with alot of my features in my trailer and I am glad to hear that there are improvements being made where mine had fell short of expectations. I even would definately consider getting another mirage trailer as long as I am not jerked around again.

Owning and operating a manufactureing biz my self I know that it can be tuff making sure that things are 100% before they leave the floor but the extra time taken by your crew will pay off 10 fold in the long run, I comend you for taking the time to put yourself in an open forum and try to fix the issues that the product is haveing. knowing that you can never make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time it bodes well that you are willing to try.

I will contact you soon. thank you.

I was looking at a Xtreme Snow...

I am in the process of buying a new enclosed trailer. I was down at the local mirage dealer yesterday looking at a new one. I did notice there was some screws 3 0r 4 laying between the floor and the v nose ramp when i opened the ramp up to walk inside. Made me wonder. After reading this I think i will order a Wells Cargo instead. When it is time to go sledin i dont want to be sitting on the side of the highway dealing with trailer issues.

Kudos to Mirage for watching and replying to these threads! Unfortunately, this is not the first thread with a similar theme, do a seach for mirage.
