Anyone familiar with this area???

Anyone familiar with the area in Heber referred to as "Timberland" I believe it is.....We were looking at renting a home there and the people say its a great place to stay for sleddin' and head into Park for Skiing...anyone know if this is legit?

Timberlakes is probably what they are referring to. It has great riding around the area. Park City would be about 30 minutes depending on the exact location of the rental you are looking at and how good the roads are.

timberlakes sounds right.....plenty of sled ridin around there then?

Takin the kids with us, they have small sleds to mess around with a us a little but any cool things for us to take them to around Heber or do we have to go into PARK CITY

Not much in Heber City that is "cool" or touristy. It's your typical small town. There is an old train there, but I don't believe it's open in the winter.

Just to the west of Heber is Soldier Hollow where the cross country events were held during the olympics. They have a huge tubing hill there... you get pulled up the hill and slide down. Soldier Hollow Website

Otherwise it's in to Park City for much to do.

If you are staying in Timberlakes you can ride right out the top of the area and onto public land. Lots of riding available. Depending on where you are at in the area you may have some open area for the kids to play around in on their sleds, but don't count on it, it can be pretty tight in the homes area.

If you like to fish the Provo River around Heber is one of the best trout fisheries in the nation. Even in the cold winter months you can catch fish on the river.

thanks on the cabin offer......we got a screamin deal on a 5 bedroom for only 200.00 a night for a week stay.....can't beat it, nice place.....

However, are you guys saying we should have been looking for a place in Park City instead of Heber??

I thought staying in Heber with the kids where it is quieter, sleddin around there and then a couple day trips into Park for skiing and ice skating was the way to go...

Let me know if I should change anything up...
Also, if any of ya ever come up to our area (Reno/Tahoe) for some sleddin, let me know I can show you some areas to go
