Anyone ever brake their color bone?

I broke my color bone yesterday riding dirt bikes, and was wondering which day it is going to hurt the worst. Their is a chance that i might have to get surgery on it this week. The part closest to my neck is sticking up in the air and the other part of the bone is underneath it. Any advice on how to make it feel better is very welcomed.

Yup. Long time ago. Oxy-Cotin sir, 40mg would probably loop you up good. Of course, I don't recommend pain killers to people because they are sometimes a neccessary evil. I have a lot of prescriptions from over the years :(. Ice wouldn't hurt, and Icy/hot patches work well when you sleep. That's all I have to say about that. Hope you get back to normal shortly

Broke mine sleding 6 years ago first ride of the season. Your brake sounds a lot like mine. My shoulder looked like a tent! Had to have surgery and some hardware. First couple of days were the worst. After that just don't lead with that shoulder! Healed up nice, got the hardware removed and rode the last ride of the season. Hope you feel better!

Thanks nate for the advice, i havent iced it yet but im going to in a bit.

I'm on the meds and wasnt for sure on spelling so dont make fun of me. lol

Stuck, how long did it take you to heel up? Cause i was told 6 weeks and i shud be as good as new. but that was if i didnt have surgery.

Broke the left side 3 times and the right 1 time. Yup, it hurts especially when they harness it and pull your sholders back. You will probably also have a knot after the healing is done (I have a big one on the left side). Was never told 6 weeks, the shortest one was 8. After the swelling went down, a heat pad actually felt better on it.

Broke mine 20 years ago riding dirt bikes. I was wear a full face helmet and when i crashed it broke my left side. Not much they can do for ya. I wore a harness thing around for a few weeks. I remember a very dull annoying type ache. Take it easy and hit some Advil.

ya, 8 weeks will suck! I broke my left side to, sounds like the left side is weaker. lol Thats kinda weird about breaking the left side so many times. so i don't have swelling right now, so shud i still be doing ice or can i go to the heat pad?

Hey Ron how does that effect your bow hunting? Did you ever switch positions between right and left draw?

I broke my collar bone the weekend before thanksgiving, had surgery that next weekend. Got the hardware pulled in the middle of march.

Geez thats a long time.so could you still ride with the hardware in?

I could have probably ridden but didn't. Mid Jan I had a pin work loose and caused me a great deal of pain. It was L shaped and when I move my arm the wrong way it would catch on the underside of my skin and would rotate so that it would point straight up. ouch, it hurts thinking about it. So needles to say I didn't get to much riding.

Sh*t man, i hope dont have to have surgery. but it sounds like that is the only way it is going to get reset.:(

yup been there done that ..both sides ...just one question ..who's typing for you LOL

feel kinda numby ....achey ....then you should some really cool colors, a little purple, black action at first then greeny orange and then yellow and normal at the end ...

I just popped codein 500s for the first week or soo .....gonna be a really ***** gettin up in the morning ..you are gonna learn how to roll outa bed using your legs mostly ....

did a real cool endo off a 12 foot high jump when I was 17 on the first one then hit a cement barrier the second time around along with 6 broken ribs and a puntured lung

woke up with all kinds of neat tubes hanging out everywhere ...

good luck ...oh and 6-8 and good to go lol

Sorry man that sucks. Sounds better than mine though. Had a burst T12 total of 8 screws and 2 rods. Happened in May and was back at work 10 weeks later. Hit the advil and get better soon.

Right side twice ........ hurts for awhile, then just uncomfortable till it heals. Now it just hurts when a storms coming. 1st time involved a dirt bike and a tree, 2nd was contact with a bulls head. Plenty of Advil or Aleve will dull it back to manageable level.

Just time on that one, where the weird little brace they give you, and after a week it wont hurt that much unless something jars it. Resist the urge to do things at 4 weeks, you will feel good enough but its weak enough that it won't take the strain on it. Wait atleast 6 to 8 weeks before really pushing it. Good luck man

broke the right one here,I was out of work for 3 months.I was told I was a slow healer, milked the work thing a bit, that and I fell and rebroke it 2 weeks after the fact.
one thing that helped me was sleeping in a lazyboy,I couldn't lay down flat for a month.that and sleeping in the chair made it easier to get back up.
best of luck,it definatly sucks.mine still hurts from time to time.
I never would have found this place if I didn't beak my COLOR bone
