BLECH! Man I like making money and being busy during these economical times, but I really need to ride one of these days! Every time I think I can get a day...........phone rings. Someday I will learn to say no.

So, how is the snow this year anyways?:mad::beer;

I guess you just learn to close the doors. Whats the fun of having money if you cant spend it on the hobbies. Good luck getting to the mountains, its priceless :D:beer;

I am in the IT field. A lot of my work is required to be done after and before most of the staff are at work. I try to "bank" the time and then take the occasional afternoon or day off to sled. My employer is very good about allowing me to do this. If some of the projects were carried out during regular business hours several staff members would be sitting around not being able to do their job.

There is no such thing as too much work.
If work starts to conflict with sledding, I get sick. Cough, cough.

Boss says I have to be the sicklies person he has ever know, but only from dec-may.

Experiencing similar problem this winter. Of course I can't complain too much, I took off work most of last season so I could sled. Wife made it clear I couldn't afford to do that this year, so I'll squeeze in rides when I can. Doesn't help working on east side of Wyoming and being from the west side.

Nope!

Not to busy working to ride, in fact have this entire week off! Wanted to go to Revy desperately, and it turns out they have wicked snow right now. But none of my riding buddies can go. So here I sit on my computer, with a brand new sled in my garage :mad:. Maybe I'll go ride across a couple more stubble fields this week. My life sucks.............:rolleyes:

I'm not working, but I;m in my first year of university. I saved most of my teenage life for a new sled and bought in January last year. I live about 10 hours away from my parents, and my sled. I'll only get home 2-3 times for a few weekends of sledding this winter, it's definitely my least favorite thing about being in university.

the boss gave us guys from the 23 dec to jan 5 off..but heck...so darn cold a week before and still..-28 to -45 with high winds ..all i was able to do was keep the wood fires burning...tons of snow too...heck...

I got off the road Dec....23 ...went back Dec 29...now I am broke down and wasted 5 days in a different town..hows that grab ya ....

gotta work like a bugger to afford my new sleigh ;)

I have the opposite problem.

Business is really off and I am working like crazy to try and drum up some more. It seems I am busier when there isn't anything to do - if that makes any sense at all. I guess that's sales!

I guess it's a good thing that I absolutely love my job!

hehehe.... I've tried that, but when i'm standing in the boss's office, looking out his window at my truck with a sled in the back... kinda hard to say "no, really, i have a sore throat and i think i'll get some work done from home tomorrow..."

But they also know that I'll come in again later in the evening and on weekends to change out tests and keep systems running. I've been doing this for the past few weeks. Like today, showed up around 0915, jumped into a meeting at 1000, ditched out for a two-hour lunch around 2pm, by the time I got back most other people were leaving... but I still got 9hrs in today.

Everyone's pretty cool about it; company's real good with vacation... i have more than I used, carried over a few days into this year. HR takes off-time from the time that doesn't carry over first, then they start subtracting from what does carry over, so tehy work that in our favor.

This time of year with the holidays is a good time to take some time off anyways... suppliers are all doing the same thing, so lead time goes up another week or so in december.

Glad to have a steady job knowing there's still work tomorrow.... keep :beer;'in :D

I wish! Work's been a little slow through the winter so I've had no choice but to go snowmobiling. The sugar was over the hood today....so sweet!

I would have gone today, but I had a meeting at work so my friends broke trail in 2 ft of fresh. They are going tomorrow too, but I have to take my wife to the airport. :mad: Hopefully I can find babysitters for Friday and then I'll go. :D
