Anyone else notice something about the Republican response the other night?

Well lets start with his voting record in Congress, strict conservative. The fact that he is not only intellegent he has become a very successfull buisinessman with john deere dealerships, he is a great speaker and oh he is black. Swampy;)

Looks like an honest man, but other than that and the obvious, what's his outstanding feature?

response

you're right on with that call. this country is so disgusting the way we feel we need to kiss the asses of minorities and put them on a pedestal.

ok, so now it's the hip thing to do is have a minority rep your party to win the votes of the guilty feeling white people out there...ok, here we go.

bobby jindal is a good guy. he'd be a great candidate.

however, my dog's *** would be a better choice than obama.

we need more of the middle of the road people to get pissed off at obama and the rest of his crew and how they're destroying this country.

I was just curious if anyone else thinks that the Republican party is grooming the Louisianna gov. to possibly run in 2012? I'd like to hear everyone else's thoughts on this. Everyone knows the black card helped the wonderful wizzard obama win, just can't help but think that the Republican party will play it too, maybe with Palin as VP?

You republicans.... seriously... nothing says old and outdated like copycatting.... and doing it for the wrong reasons too...

It actually makes me sick, I mean don't your conservative values go against this? Seems like selling out to me.

If you think people voted for him cause he was black, well, good luck in 2016.... Well, why non-blacks voted for him anyways....

You obviously know very little about JC Watts it would definatelly not be a copy cat, he has the intelligence, experience, credentials and morals to be a great president. And as for copy cats it was the Republican party that drug the democrats kicking and screaming into the 1964 Civil rights act, totally opposed by the democrats. It was the republican party that nominated the first Black supreme court justices, it was the republicans who appointed the first black secretary of state etc. Swampy:eek:

You need a guy like Petraeus as vice president. No one in their right mind would attack this guy.

We need another Ronald. Someone that can speak, with confidence. Someone that's not in it for power or money, just honest love of country. I don't know if anyone like that exists anymore. Well maybe me, but they'd just pull up my snowest comments, and I'd be toast. :) Oh, and I don't do public speaking all that well. And, I get nervous in front of crowds. :)

did noone else like huckabee? maybe very conservative but i think i could deal with him being president
whatever though... its just the ultimate popularity contest

rush said it takes another carter, to get another reagan.

we can only hope.

ruffyryder....you have no idea how many people voted for him b/c he's black. i'm talking specifically, the white dems that feel guilty about being white.

heard something funny the other day--a comedian talking about relating sex to politics. he said, republicans....yea...it's all about you babe. democrats....yea....i'm going to tell you it's all about you, but it's really all about me. then i'm taking $20 from your wallet.

Is that what rush is telling you? That is not why I voted for him.. Not why a lot of other people voted for him. Seems like for some it is the only way to come to terms with him winning. .. It had to be some sort of scandal... had to be white guilt, had to be he bought the white house....

Turn rush back on and get angry... seems to work good.

Look at the comments above... that is what I am talking about... Sure does look like being a copycat for the sake of winning.... "If the dems did it and won, so can we"....

The Dems won because they used the Media to continually pump negative Bush/Republican propoganda, over and over for 2 years. Spending, the War on Terror, etc. Throwing around a lot of bad numbers, mated with only negative stories about the War in Iraq, is a easy way to make people believe Change is good. .02

One question for you. Now that Bambi as a African American has achieved the highest office our country has, will Affirmative Action removed? There is no reason for it to still be in place, the playing field was level with Bambi's election.
Not attacking you Ruff, just curious as to your opinion on this topic.

I think Huckabee is great and am expecting him to run in 4. He has more exective experience than all of the other candidates combined and a record to stand on. If you have not read his book, Do the Right Thing, put it on your short list. Good read. He a proponent of The Fair Tax too!

He made it far with a grass roots campaign effort. I'm tired of politicians buying elections. Romney tried and Obama did it. The media also doesn't give you fair exposure to all of the candidates. They just pick their favorites and report on them most often.

We need some campaign reform if you as me.

If you think that electing a black president ends any race issues, you have to be really ignorant... or from Alaska...;) lol

Yes, a black person was able to get to the top, with the help of a lot of white people.... Did the black race in America change overnight? No, same stuff, same issues, same prejudices, just a different head at the top.. Affirmative Action will be removed when the level playing field is at the bottom too... The top cares less about race and more about money / power / control, IMO.

That is like saying sexism would have ended if Hilary would have one. Would it change things? Yah, it would have started something, but her winning the election wouldn't end it overnight..

Just my thoughts, growing up around racists and all different types of people.

ruffy, also very interested to hear your opinion on why you support him. if someone said in a couple sentences, tell me why...what would you say?

I don't support him as much as people think.. When I looked at McCain and Obama, they were actually quite close in a lot of areas. When hearing them speak, Obama seemed more like a leader then McCain, and would garner the respect of the people and hopefully congress to get some things done. I really didn't like the republican mantra... "Drag this Yosemite Sam across the finish line and deal with him later...". Is that how you talk about someone you think of as a leader? McCain and Obama had pretty similar opinions on illegals, I like Obama's thoughts that it should be business owners that suffer from the hiring of illegals, not only the illegals themselves. Stopping the demand for illegal workers will go a long ways in helping the immigration problem.

The big thing for me is energy infrastructure and the change to RE sources. For me, being in this field, I see this as a huge opportunity to create a new market for lots of jobs that will increase the use of technology in the energy sector, has the possibility to decrease the amount of fossil fuels being used, and more importantly maybe reduce our oil imports, and decrease pollution into the air too...

I just think he is the better man for the job. We shall see what he does though. All I know is the next couple of years sure will be interesting.

Ron Paul........it will never happen but I can dream.

The media is scared to death of this guy because he sees right through them.

I would have and still will vote for him. The biggest problem with R.P. is there are a lot of crazy's that associate with him. It really hurts him.

I would also vote for Collin Powell.

Palin really killed the last ticket, GOP is crazy if they bring her in again.

Alternative energy research is essential. I think most people would agree with that. However, Obama is a fool for discouraging/penalizing the use of today's available resources (oil, gas, coal) which our current infrastructure is built to leverage. How are we going to be competitive in a world economy if we are forced to use more expensive forms of alternative energy instead of what is readily available on our own land?

McCain's philosophy of "all of the above" is the right strategy. Become energy independent now by using our own resources, which creates jobs, and let the free market determine the right time to leverage new technology. I find it absurd that my tax dollars are being used to fund research for energy sources that I will be force to use at a higher cost than what is sitting in the ground ready to use today.
