Anyone else have sled stop running/starting due to water in electrical ?

Looking to see if anyone else has had this issue as I had to diagnoze myself and dealer said they had not heard of this problem.

2 weeks ago my sled turned off while idling. We pulled plugs and checked spark (no spark)... ended up getting towed off mountain. 3 hours sled started and appeared to have no issues. I noted it was snowing heavily that day and snow was melting on top of the sled between guage and handlebars.

Dealer could not reproduce and thought it was a faulty ecu.

Saturday it dies on my again. We swapped ecu's and still no start. Sled towed back to my truck. I was so pissed I started tearing it apart to try disconnect kill switch. tried pulling multiple plugs and made no difference. I then found the velcro bag under the handlebar plastics was filled with water.

Dried it out and flipped it so it would not get wet - sled fired right up and has been flawless.

make sense ?

Yes, makes sense as a definite possibility. I've never checked under that area but if there are plugs, consider using dielectric grease on the connectors and if you don't ever see yourself going there again, consider drowning the plugs/cords with liquid tape. It spreads easily and hardens to a waterproof seal...

My sled died on me last week. It fired back up but would only rev to 5,000rpm approx.....got me back to the truck.
First time this poo has let me down from a day of sledding. 1500 miles.
It was a really wet rainy day,so i'm thinking it was maybe something to do with that. I took it to the dealer and haven't talked to them yet.
They gave me a 2014 155 to use. It sure rips! It feels lower geared then my 2013 164...are they? It also pulls 8250 on a steep deep climb, mine barely pulls 7900-8000. I'm hoping they'll trade me...:face-icon-small-hap

first thing I do to all of my sleds is to take apart every connector and apply dielectric grease into the terminals and around the weather pack seal. I also remove grounds and clean/grease/tighten the ground terminals. Something to consider doing in the future. Eric
